Karl Pettersson family in Daretorp, (Velinga) in Skaraborg

I am researching the Carl PETTERSSON family who allegedly lived in Velinga, later Daretorp, in Skaraborg, Sweden. He and his family had at least the following children, all of whom emigrated to USA.  They were: August, Karl Herman (b.24 Dec 1855), Mathilda Sophia (b.16 Dec 1865), and Oscar. Karl Herman Petterson married Clara Carlsson (b.11 May 1852) from Gudhem, Skaraborg; and they had one son Karl Axel in about 1878. This child may have died before they emigrated to USA. They emigrated on 7 May 1880 from Goteburg.  Mathilda emigrated to America with her brother Oscar in about 1887. I have photographs of the parents of these children but I don't know the mother's name.  Is there anyone who is currently researching this family or who knows something about the family who remained in Sweden.  Thank you.

The family that you are looking fore is that of Carl Petter Magnusson and his wife Sofia Larsdotter. Carl was born 1825 July 8th in Nässjö (F) and died 1911 December 1st in Dalen, Velinga (R). His wife was born 1836 June 10th at a soldiers cottage, Tomten, Dimbo (R) and died at Dalen, Velinga 1904 January 23rd. The couple was married in 1854 and moved to Ebbarpstorp, Velinga in 1855. At this place they lived at least 40 - 45 years.
 
All children were born there and some died there as well. They never lived in Daretorps parish. The three parishes of Daretorp, Velinga and Brandstorp formed a larger congregation. This meant that the records were being done in Daretorp. When someone moved out from this congregation, the priest would sign the moving certificate Daretorp and the date of move.  
 
Children of Carl and Sofia were:
 
Augusta Matilda born 1861 March 3rd.  Dead 1862 December 30th.
Selma Augusta born 1863 May 14th. Dead 1878 June 29th.
Sanfrid Albert born 1869 January 6th Dead 1890 December 11th.
 
Carl Herman born 1855 December 24th. He married Klara Karlsdotter of Gudhem 1878 December 31st in Velinga. They had a son Karl Axel born in Velinga 1879 September 11th.  
They move from Velinga to Vartofta Åsaka parish in 1879. According to the emigration CD they have a ticket fore Stillwater, when they leave Sweden in 1880. No sign of the child.
 
Johan August born 1858 July 13th. He marries Augusta Bäck born 1856 February 12th in Kymbo. They were married 1882 December 30th in Velinga. He leaves Velinga July 23rd 1887 and has a ticket to Omaha, Nebraska. His wife and two children stay in Sweden until 1891.
Augusta and her children leave Velinga 1891 October 24th. They have a ticket to Frankfort. The children were Karl Johan Rickard born 1884 May 15th and Erik Gideon born 1887 July 25th at Ettak, Velinga.
 
Sofia Matilda born 1865 December 16th and Oscar Gottfrid born 1875 September 14th. They leave Velinga 1888 April 12th. They had a ticket fore New York.
 
Gustav Wilhelm born 1870 December 15th. He moves from Velinga 1892 October 28 to Suntaks parish.
 
Josefina Amanda born 1873 April 5th. She gets married 1897 December 31st to Anders Gustav Klasson born 1870 April 2nd.
 
Artur born 1878 April 19th. He gets married 1899 June 18th in Velinga to Maria Alfrida Carlbom. She was born 1876 August 18th.

Thank you so much.  One other question.  Based on the fact that the father's name was Carl Petter Magnussson, were the children's last names Pettersson or Carlson in Sweden?  Except for one sibling here in America, they were named Peterson while the one sibling chose to be a Carlson.  Any hints as to which last name was used?  Also, is Dimbo a parish in Skaraborg?  Thanks for your time and patience.
