Hi Gail,

In Emigranten I found an Axel Forsberg, 17 years old, from Tuna parish, Y-län, Västernorrlands county. He went from Göteborg, 1872, July 5, destination was St Paul. He was travelling together with four other Forsberg.

I think the father was L P Forsberg, 42 years old and the mother Stina Erika, 41 years old.

Hi Sam
Thanks for the info.  I had quite a time getting back to this.  I forgot how I found it in the first place.  The good news,  I beleive this Axel may be a nephew to my Axel.  My Axel was born in 1858 but he also had a son named axel in the 1889.   My mother has spoken of a Stina.
& I recall seeing one in the Family tree.
I just checked my records & found my Axel was born in 1958, Home parish Rams, Residence Oforsen, Parish of Birth Ram,  This was in the ANNO 1890 Swedish Census that I found in december of 2000 but I can't find it now for further checking.  He was also a Trasliperiarb as occupation & from what I had heard he was killed in an industrial accident about 1904 - 06??  I really have no other info on him & sure would like to know where I can find some.

This info shows SVARvolum: 000318 Card nr:3
Page: 27 Row : 1  -  How do I find this.

It could be that this LP Forsberg was a brother to my Axel.

Thanks for any help,
Gail

If you are sure that this is the right family, you can find the info again at http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/s/person.asp?lannr=17&forsnr=3&pnr=1249

This family lived in Oforsen, parish of Rämmen in the county of Värmland.

The wife was Emma Katarina Karlsdotter, born 1864
d. Emma Axelina, born 1883
s. Gustaf Sigurd, born 1885
s. Karl Gustaf, born 1885
d. Signe Maria, born 1887
s. Axel Werner, born 1889

Axel Emil Forsberg, born 1858 in Rämmen, was a wood grinder.

To find out more about this family, you can consult the church records for Rämmen, through the Mormon Family History Centers, or place a query under the heading Landskap - Värmland - socknar -Rämmen

Also, Forsberg is a very common name, there are numerous families in all areas of the country by this name, and they are not related.

FORSSBERG

Seek ANY info on my great-grandmother Anna Brita FORSSBERG, b. 03 Apr 1870, Sundsvall Parish, Västernorrland, Medelpad; d. 23 Jun 1927; buried at cemetery very near a house at Sundsvall where she lived in 1902.

On 06 May 1869, she married Johan SÖDERSTRÖM, who was b. 17 Jun 1842, Grundsunda Parish, Västernorrland, Angermanland. They are known to have resided at Husum (or Husums Sågwerk), Grundsunda Parish, which is also indicated on the 1890 census.

Would like to know the parents & siblings of Anna Brita and anything about them and their ancestors.

Info on her husband Johan SÖDERSTRÖM's ancestry is also desired.

Thank you so much for whatever you can tell me!

FORRSBERG

My apologies for the error on Anna Brita FORSSBERG's birth date on my above query.  Also, Anna Brita was actually my great-great-grandmother!  (Will try to be more careful.)  03 Apr 1870 is the birth date of their daughter (my great-grandmother) Anna Elina Söderström.  Anna Brita's birth date is 05 Jan 1846. Thanks so much for catching that, Peter!

And, Bo, your info has been VERY helpful!  I DO have 17/06 1842 (not 07) from a family source but cannot be sure of that. So I feel certain that Lars Olof & Maria Margareta must be my great-great-great-grandparents.  Will definitely write to Georg too.  I live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA (where I was born and grew-up), so my Swedish side has been more difficult for me.  Your kind efforts & time spent finding this info is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I am seeking information about the family of Per Olof Forsberg, born Sept. 11, 1838 in Hille, Gävleborg. He married Maria Lovisa Sporrong in 1863. (She was born March 3, 1840, in Österfärnebo parish, Gävleborg.) They left Järbo in 1868 with their two sons, Axel Restor Theodor (born Sept. 26, 1865) and Per Gerhard (born Sept. 24, 1867), sailing to Quebec. In 1870 they were living in Chicago, and in 1889 they were living in Seattle. I'd like to learn about Per Olof's parents and siblings. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Anders Theodor was born in Gävle (Gefle) January 2, 1804. He had a twin sister, Stina Maria, and their parents were the ship's carpenter Anders Forsberg and his wife Anna Ersdotter (Source: Gävle Heliga Trefaldighet CI:8 (birth register), p 213).

Hej Hans Olof!

Thank you so much for this information about Pehr Olof, my great-great grandfather. I really appreciate your help! After he moved to the U.S., Pehr Olof ended up in Port Angeles, a small logging town west of Seattle, where he started a farm that is still in our family. You're so kind to help me trace my family!

If it's possible, I'd love to receive jpgs of these two images, although I recognize that it may not be possible. Thanks!

All my best,
Leslie Forsberg
