Hedberg Family

[Leif Hedberg]

I am looking for information on a Michael and Anna Hedberg. They had two children in Sweden, Carrie (born Oct 1857) and Ida (born Oct 1864). All I know about them is that they were married in 1856 and Ida was supposedly born in Halsingland. The immigrated to the United States (Iowa)around 1871.  
Any help would be grealy appreciated. I don't even begin to know where to look.

The Iowa State Census for 1925 provides the names of parents of everyone who has been enumerated. You can learn Anna Hedberg's maiden name, for example. They might not have emigrated using Hedberg, either. They might have used their patronymic names.
 
The 1900-1910-1920-1930 U.S. Federal Censuses provide a year of immigration, and ages, to help estimate when they were born. The 1900 U.S. Federal Census provides a month and year of birth.
 
You should follow Elisabeth's advice. Swedish Roots is very helpful.
