Franz Holmblad, from Lidköping to N Y 1893 - my farfar?

My father Gustaf Hildebrand Holmblad was en oäkte barn, born in Näs, Svanskog, on 12 March, 1887 to Gustafva Jonsdotter of Svanskog. Later(26 September 1891), Gustafva married Alfred Nilsson Höök,with whom she had six more children; she was born on 17 June 1862 in Åmal and died on 13 January 1952 in Svanskog.
 
My father emigrated to America in 1903 at the age of 16 (Flyttningsbetyg Svanskog, 21 September 1903).I have not discovered with whom he traveled nor on what ship.  
 
I am trying to verify the identity of my farfar and learn anything about him. All I know is that my father's Social Security application states that his father's name was Franz (actually Frans).And I have found in the Ellis Island immigration records that a Franz Aug. Holmblad arrived in N.Y. from Göteborg on 24 August 1893,then 28 years old , bound for Chicago and with last residence Lidköping,Sweden.
 
The name is certainly unusual and the dates plausible. Could anyone help by checking the parish records in Lidköping osv to trace his origin and places of residence, particularly where he was in the summer of 1896,perhaps in Svanskog in the same place as Gustafva?  
 
I would be endlessly grateful for any help.

as born 1865 living in Skaraborgs län. Hopefully there are people who have extended access to this data base.

Tusen tack to Mausve and Nob for the incredibly fast replies and for all the information.Frans August,born 1865,is certainly the immigrant I found in the Ellis Island records,further confirmed by  his description in the ship's manifest as a joiner. However, any connection between him  and Gustafva Jonsdotter  is still lacking. Perhaps a further lookup might disclose hi early flyttingar (as well as my father's 1903 emigration record). Again,tack så mycket!

Jan Gustaf Eriksson b 1842 and his wife Anna Cajsa Olsdotter b 1839. She has more siblings.

On the previous page, i.e. p 188, Sågen (Saw mill), Näs, appears saw mill operator Frans Alexis Holmblad, born 1857 10 Dec at Långserud. He leaves for North America 1888 March 25th, leaving his mother, widow Maria Nilsdotter born 1811 21 Jan at Gillberga, behind.

(On that page is also Frans' sister)
sister Anna Charlotta Holmblad b -45 19/3 at Långserud, widow -74 5/10, and emigrates to North America -88 28/3.
 
Frans and his sister Anna Charlotta thus emigrates the same day (from Svanskog together with e.g. Frans Oskar Ekström and Anders Oskar Uppström) which is verified in the Svanskog Move record. This makes it very possible that the Frans M Holmblad, 21, from the database above is
Frans A Holmblad, 31. (I've checked the original passenger list on which the database is based and Frans M, 21, Svanskog is in fact the handwriting.) Anna Charlotta travels together with Anna, 17 (a daughter?) both heading for North Easton, Mass. Guess the older Emil is the brother of Frans.

Hi Judy, and thank you for all the new info. I have been trying your link to passenger lists, but so far without success. If you have indeed sent me all the Holmblads from Emihamn, isn't it probable that Frans Alexis, reported by Lars on 29/2,emigrated by some means other than ship, very likely via Norway as you suggest? And Lars, if he did go by ship, wouldn't his emigration record show the ports of departure and destination like Judy's entries ? That added info might be very helpfull.
