Tage is a male name (pronounced like tage i German - a is open and long as in hard, g is pronounced as g in good, e is NOT silent but pronounced as eh (Taagheh). Ebba Ottilia is a female name.

Tage is a male name. Ebba Ottilia is a female name.

This site is fun for discovering how many people in modern Sweden have a particular given name or last name. The site is only in Swedish.

http://www.scb.se/statistik/be0101/BE0101NamnSok.asp

Efternamn = last name
Båda könen = both genders

Förnamn (given names):  Kvinna (woman)
    Man (man)

You need to choose the correct type of name (and gender) before you search.

Sök = search.
Rensa = erase/clear

Results are in Swedish only, but the first part tells us how many have that name in modern times and the next part tells how many use that name as their title name, the name they are called.

Tage

14581 men have the given name Tage. Of those, 5608 use that name as the name they are called. (We don't generally use all of our given names.)

Ebba

19820 women have the given name Ebba. 12512 have that name as they name they are called.

Ottilia

3360 women have the given name Ottilia. 360 use Ottilia as the name they are called.

Tage, male name
phonetic script:
ta:ge)
t - too
a - father (a-sign here instead of the modern-like type)
g - go
e - pen
Ebba, female name  (but Ebbe is male name)
phonetic script:
eb^
e - pen
b - back
^ - run (the a-sign here instead of upsidedown v)
Ottilia, female name
phonetic scrpt:
oti:li^
o - top
t -too
i: - steel
l - long
i - ring
^ - run
The proper signs as they look in dictionary I cannot make here, I think this will do.

Nearly all names ending with the letter a are female names. Most but not all female names do end in an a.

At this page a List of Names is published, only in Swedish. If you scroll down the page you will first find a number of male names (Mansnamn) and then female names (Kvinnonamn), which might be useful.
