Can anyone tell me of the origins or meaning of the name Bohman or Boman ?

Bob! Bo- usually derived from a place name  
(meaning,roughly, a dwelling) ie Kvarnbo, Borås  
etc etc and -man was the person living there.  
 
Swedish soldiers and sailors were provided with a  
proper surname when they enlisted and Boman was  
not uncommon.
 
There are doubtless other possibilities.

Is curious about the connection between the Le Grand and De Grade, saw another older thread that De Grade is a spin-off and I obviously want to know more about this.
Also see on the Vallon5 album that they are mentioned as Le Grand (De Grade)
Anyone know how and when this spin-off was made and why?

Kjell Lindblom, Sweden´s perhaps best vallon researcher, says in his book Norisk Vallongenealogi 1580-1750, page 283 that Le Grand was first found at the industrial works at Nyköping 1628-29. The text is very hard to read, is in Dutch and French, and complicated even for the trained eye. Lindblom believes that that the original name was 'le Grenadeur', in Sweden shortened to Le Grand or de Grade. He does not mention any particular person or time for this.
