I need some help reading and translating text from the Vist Hfl 1841-46: GID 410.13.39300.
Son. Gustaf, born in Vist parish (W) 1834 2/7 - what is written in the Särskilda Anteckningar column?
Also, in that same column, two lines up, what is written regarding Dtr. Eva Lotta (born 1827 21/9)?

If I may continue with additional questions for Gustaf and Eva Lotta ...
In the Vist Hfl 1846-51: GID 410.15.78900, Särskilda Anteckningar Column,
does the notation for Dtr. Eva Lotta (born 1827 21/9) say slag svagsinta?
and if so, does that translate to feeble minded due to stroke?
What does the notation for Gustaf (born 1834 2/7) say?

And lastly, Gustaf moved within this 1846-51 Hfl, to: GID 41015.73000.
What is the word that appears before his name? Gosson? and what is its meaning?
And again in the notations column, any idea what was written and then crossed out?
Is adm. 49 confirmed in 1849?

I would sincerely appreciate any help with translating these entries,
Kathryn

GID 410.13.39300, [Östergötland] Vist, AI.8 B, Household examination, 1841-1846, page 116, Image 121, address Barkesved(?).

Gustaf's remark has the date 8(?) June 1846, but I dont know what the word could be. He is too young for it to be about communion.

Eva Lotta's remark looks like slag (stroke), mindre vetande (knows little, retarded(?)), Fattigdel(?) (poor support?).

---

GID 410.15.78900, [Östergötland] Vist, AI.9 B, Household examination, 1846-1851, page 115, Image 121, address Barkesved(?).

Eva Lotta's remark looks like slag (stroke), svagsint (weak-minded, retarded).

Gustav's remark looks like l. hsot. or l. hfot. Possibly lam högerfot (lame right foot)??

Or perhaps it is not l but one something...

GID 410.15.73000, [Östergötland] Vist, AI.9 B, Household examination, 1846-1851, page 57, Image 62, address Munksmåle.

Gustaf's title is Gossen (the boy) this means he was too young to be regular farmhand with regular pay, instead he worked for bread and board.

adm 49 means he had first communion (and was confirmed) 1849.

The remark has first the same 1 hsot or whatever, then 2dra (andra = second) something, and finally about first communion in 1849.

Perhaps it is better readable in Arkiv Digital?

Bo and Mats - thank you so much for your help!
I am intrigued by the possible translation of lame right foot, as Gustaf was on poor support several times and I now wonder if he might have had a physical problem that made farm labor even more difficult. I do not have Arkiv Digital - should I repost that part of my question indicating that I'm hoping for a reading from someone who has access to Arkiv Digital? or is that bad netiquette?

I have another reading/translating request which I am going to post.  It is for the marriage listing of Gustaf's brother Peter Arvid.  Some of the words look similar [to my non-swedish-reading eyes] to the unreadable words in Gustaf's comments.  Maybe you could take a look and see if one shed light on the other.

Either way, thank you for your help.  This is my first venture into Anbytarforum, and I am so pleased and grateful for the friendly reception and kind help.

The remark is 1 hfst (första hufvudstycket) = the ten commandments. (So he was not lame!)

Best regards/Hans

Hans,
Well that makes a big difference!
It got a big chuckle when I told my husband that his ancestor wasn't lame - but he did know his ten commandments.
Every time I think I've got an ancestor figured out, some new piece of information comes along to change it all again.
But I am glad to know! So thank you very much.

Any idea what the following word is in the [GID 410.15.73000, [Östergötland] Vist, AI.9 B, page 57] Munksmåle entry?
It looks like 2dra (andra = second) something?

Thank you so much,
Kathryn

Perhaps now that he was older he also knew the 2nd hufvudstycke (~main section), whatever that was.

Edit: the 2nd section of Luther's small catechism is about the Apostles' Creed
