I'm looking at GID 349.51.79100 at the birth of Anders Pehrsson - at least I think this is his birth!  You can see him in GID 349.30.1700.  I believe it says that his birth is 17 Jun 1768.  I'm having trouble with his parent's names and his birth place.  Can you help?

I'm also having trouble reading this. The mother's name is Cherstin Pärsdotter (today normally spelled Kerstin Persdotter), the father's name (I guess) is Per Nilsson. Birth place could be Dammen (if it makes sense).

I myself have a lot of ancestors in this parish in Östergötland. This parish Nykil is very well documented and there are some very skilled researchers that you perhaps can get help from if you put questions at the swedish discussion, Landskap: Östergötland - socken: Nykil.

Thank you so much.  One more question.  I'm looking at GID 289.1.43200 at the bottom - at Åmberg.  What is the mans name?  Is it Jonas Silverman?

Also, it looks like Greta was actually born 12 Jan 1736.  I believe that her birth is GID 289.23.88100.  Can you help me confirm the place of her birth and her parent's names?

GID 289.23.85000 (Gammalkil C:2 1697-1763 page 267): I think the dates are baptism dates.
 
The Jon Andersson(?) baptised 25 July could be, or not be, your Jonas.
 
Have you any indication from some other record (HFL, marriage, death) where he was born?
 
Gretas birth looks mor like Jan than Juni, so GID 289.23.88100 (Gammalkil C:2 1697-1763) could be her birth, or rather baptism.
 
The 12 January was baptised cavalry soldier Nils S-??? and wife Gabrielsdotter's of Risberget, daughter and was called Greta...

You´re right about Greta Nilsdotter, her birthdate in the parishrecord are 12th of Jan, not Jun(e) 1736.

Baptised on the 12th of January the rider in cavalry (ryttaren)Nils Siömans (Sjömans) and wife Dårdi Gabrielsdotter at Risberget (Dårdi/Dordi are short for Dorothea).
 
Greta married twice, the first time married to the soldier Jonas Sandgren. GID 289.23.81600 C:2 p 199 Gammalkil. He was a soldier at Skista (Skiestad) in Gammalkil and she came from Unnerstad, G-kil. They married in 1759-10-14.
 
Second marriage to soldier Jonas Silfverstrand in 1766-08-03 (GID 289.24.15900) G-kil C:3 p 302. Silfverstrand came from Måshult on Skränge properties, G-kil and she from Åbacken, Kapperstad properties, G-kil.
 
Greta Nilsdotter dies at Åmberg/Omberg, Kapperstad properties 1779-09-01 GID 289.24.34300, C:3 p 663 - Greta is short for Margareta...
 
The birth you have found for Jonas Silfverstrand cannot be the right one. This is why:
 
Look at GID 289.2.63900 AI:2 Gammalkil p  341 Löth, here you have the Jonas Andersson who were born on the 25 th of July 1721...A farmer who dies in 1795 at Löt/Löth.
 
Later on in the parishrecords Jonas Silfverstrand is said to be born on the 21th of July 1721...It might be in another parish? Nykil?
 
Jonas Silfverstrand must have been a ladies man? As I see it he married four times. One marriage in 1755-05-04 Gammalkil (GID 289.23.81500), here it says he was divorced from his wife Brita Månsdotter and now married to Kerstin Andersdotter i Krångestad.
 
Then he marries Greta Nilsdotter in 1766 as above. When Greta dies he marries again in 1781-01-21 (GID 289.24.16300) to Maria Persdotter from Nysätter, Skränge properties (born 1758). Jonas Silfverstrand is now called churchwarden instead of soldier.
 
You can find Åmberg in AI:2 p 160 GID 289.2.54400 (1779-84) and AI:2 p 386 GID 289.2.66200 (1785-88). I can´t find Silfverstrand in the next parishbook AI:4.
