Hej friends!  I'm at a brick wall trying to find the family of Gustaf Hellström.  Here's what I know:

Gustaf's birthdate was listed as 18 August 1847 in the family bible, but all Swedish records indicate it to be 7 April 1847.

Gustaf moved into Katarina Parish June 25, 1881 from Karlstad
landsförsamling, Värmland (GID 2734.447.10000) and out Sept 28, 1881 to America.
He was born in Stockholm Domkyrkoförsamling which is the same as Storkyrkoförsamlingen.

From Emibas:

Hellström, Gustaf
Plåtslagare (married man)

b. 4/7/1847 in Stockholms stad

Emigrated 9/28/1881
from Borgmästargränd 3 Falkenbergsgatan 72,74, Katarina, Stockholms stad (Uppland)
to Amerika

If you can help me find his parents, I would be so grateful!

I haven't found his parents, but in the Rotemansarkiv for Stockholm Söder he is said to have emigrated together with his wife Stina Maja Olsdotter (born in Wäse, Värmlands län 30 April 1854) and their son Josef (born in Karlstad 4 December 1879, not baptized).

When checking the birth records for Storkyrkoförsamlingen, I cannot find him born either in April or August 1847. However, a Richard Gustaf was born on 4 December 1847. His parents were former Sergeant Frans Richard Hellström and Alexandra Josefina Berg (GID 2702.3.56700). It could perhaps be worth checking up?

By following the plater Gustaf Hellström (b. 7 April 1847 in Stockholm) backwards, from his son Josef's birth 1879 in Karlstad, I have found him listed as a son of Sara Andersdotter Hellström b. 24 September 1805 in Karlskoga, a widow since 30 October 1855. Gustaf had a brother Erik b. 11 April 1849 in Finland. In 1860 Sara Andersdotter Hellström and her son Gustaf moved to Sund, Nysund parish, Värmland county, and Erik Hellström moved to Kil parish, also Värmland county.
(Source: Household examination of Rudskoga parish, Värmland county, 1856-1860 page 284, place S. Gren)
Unfortunately, I could not find Sara and her sons at S. Gren in the previous hh ex of Rudskoga (1851-1855).

Gustaf Hellström's way from Nysund to Karlstad: (Some of these records are available online only at Genline, some other only at SVAR)

Nysund hh ex 1871-1875 p. 236 (Rotedsbäcken)
Lundby, Göteborg's and Bohus' county, hh ex 1869-1876 p. 293.
Maria Magdalena parish, Stockholm city, migration roll 1875, letter H nr 31: Gustaf Hellström moved in 26 June 1875 from Lundby

PS. If your only source of Gustaf Hellstrom born in Stockholm Domkyrkoförsamling is the excerpts of rotemansarkivet - just forget it, the original source says just Stockholm.

PPS. Is it confirmed that Gustaf Hellström b. 18 August 1847 (according to the family bible) is the very same person as Gustaf Hellström b. 7 April 1847?

Thank you so very much!  Yes, Emibas shows the April birthdate Gustaf emmigrating with his wife Christina Maria Olsdotter, and her birthdate is the same.  Also, his son Joseph is the same with the same birthdate.  It's only his birthdate that is in question.  I'm sure they're the same.

Thank you so much!  Yes, Gustaf must be the same person.  His wife and son Josef are the same name and birthdates as in Emibas.  Only his birth month and day are different!  It must be a mistake in the bible.

Would you say Gustaf's mother's birth was 29 September 1805 and is seen in GID 2458.50.112100?

Thanks again for your great help!
