Here are some words I could not translate from my dictionary sources:

What are the meanings of:

födelseförs
familjest
famstkod
hemmanseg

These are usuages in the 1890 Swedish Census that i would welcome a translation of.

Barry:
födelse = birth
förs / församling = parish
familj / familje = family
st = (probably short for) status
fam = (short for) family
kod = code
hemmanseg / hemmansegare = homestead owner
According to these translations does your words mean as follows:
birth parish ; family status ; family status code ; homestead owner

Regards,
Peter

Peter: Hi. Perhaps you could answer the following question for me. What do the actual codes noted on the 1890 census stand for? Specifically the following ones:

Famstkod: B, M, F
Familjest: d., h., s.,
Civilstånd: O, E, G

I hope you can clarify this for me.

Thank you,
Donna

Carina Rickard

Hi,
Famstkod: B´, M, F  I suppose that B stand for Child M for Mother and F for Father

Familjest d, h ,s   I suppose it means
d stands for daughter ( she's the daughter in this family ) h = wife and s= son

And finally Civilstånd O E G  Meansin what kind of situation the person is O stands for Unmarried, E for Widow/er and G for Married.

If I'm wrong I hope someone would correct me. But this is the way I read the mentioned document
Sincerely,
Carina

Carina: Thank you again for your help. After entering my message, I actually had found the civil status codes and what they meant at the site which includes the 1890 census.

In appreciation,
Donna
