Eskilstuna, Where is this please?

I have an old Swedish geograhy book. Inside is the name Johan August Anderson born 8 December 18_6.
This may be 1856 or 1846. The one number is very difficult to read.
Written on another page is 1887,Eskilstuna.
 
I would like to know if Eskilstuna is a city or smaller place and what parish and Lan I should use to place a question about this person.
 
The title of the book is Lärbok I Geografi för Folkskolan printed 1885

Isn't Eskilstuna in that geography book?  
 
Eskilstuna is a town/city in Södermanland (D) since 1659, formerly well known for its metal industry and then often called ”Sweden's Sheffield”. In 1889 the town had 10 330 inhabitants.  
 
Today Eskilstuna kommun = community (Eskilstuna town + a number of surrounding parishes) has 89 354 inhabitants. Until 1930 there was an Eskilstuna parish. Nowadays, I think the town parishes are Fors and Kloster - hopefully someone more familiar with Eskilstuna will correct me if I'm wrong.

Maud: Thank you for your good help.I have now found Eskilstuna in the little book!! There was no index but does have a a line about this place under Södermanland.
