How do I add a message to a discussion?

How do I add a message to a discussion?  People have asked questions and I don't know how to answer them.

Arthur!
When you read a díscussuion - like I do now - there is a square beneath the question. Called Message text/ Meddelandetext.  
There you can write your message. Then you can förhandsvisa/posta meddelande - You can then look at the message you have sent - and then post it if it is ok.
