In USA she also used the name, Lotta.
She marries a Daniel Johnsson in Norway, Michigan on 24 September 1887.

Emigranten CD has one Emma (surname not given) age 21 emigrating from Grangärde 1887.
 
Name: EMMA, Age: 21, Parish: GRANGÄRDE, County: W (Kopparberg), Port: GÖTEBORG, Date: 1887-08-12, Destination: DOWS WRIGHTS, Source code: 32:579:2756
 
She travels with: PER ERIK PERSSON age 26, HILMA age 3, and ANNA age 1.
 
This looks like a family, but it seems a bit strange that Emma is recorded with only her first name. So perhaps she is not Per Erik's wife, but his sister.
 
If this is your Emma, she has only 47 days to get from Gothenburg to Michigan and her wedding.

Quite a lot of Swedes emigrated by way of Oslo (at the time called Christiania) and Bergen in those days and so are not found on the Emigranten CD.
Better check the Norwegian records too!

Yes, Emma Charlotta Petersdotter left Grangärde parish in October 1886. But before she emigrated, she went to Norrbärke parish. In Norrbärke I found the following from the Emigranten CD.
 
Name: CHARLOTTA, Surname: PETERSON, Age: 20, Parish: NORRBÄRKE, County: W (Kopparberg), Port: GÖTEBORG, Date: 1887-08-19, Destination: NEW YORK, Source code: 32:612:1743.
 
Perhaps this is the right person. If you want to be sure, I can try to find her birth date next week.

Hi Clyde,
I checked the lutheran church in Norway, MI and did not find her.  She was not at the lutheran church in Iron Mountain but I did find an Emma Peterson at what is described as Bethel Prot. Episcopal on the film and the book says Bethel Svenska Ev. Luth.
Unfortunately little info is given that could help you.  I did also search for Daniel Johnson and didn't find him.  I particularly looked for marriage lists.  But now that I think of it, I will return to check the Covenant church in Iron Mountain.  If this is your Emma, she might have gotten married at that place.

The 1900 census gives her year of emigration as 1887.
