I am seeking information on the emigration of Alrick and Emma Johannesson from Sweden to Canada in 1905(approximately). Alrick was born 10 Jan 1875 in Ostmark, Varmland and Emma (nee Olson) was born 1 Sep 1878 in Alby. They came to Canada with 3 daughters.... Jenny Kristina born 14 Jul 1899, Mary Ingaborg boorn 15 Aug 1902 and Vivian born in 1905 in Alby. Any information about the date, place of departure, ship and destintation would be greatly appreciated. Could information be sent to my email as this is the first time on this site and hope i can find information posted. I do not read or understand Swedish which is a real problem for me. Thanx in advance.

No info about the departure, but this is the information found on CD Emibas, showing the family when they were given permission to leave the parish.
Might help others to contribute with more info

I found the family on a Norwegian site, showing emigrants leaving Trondheim.
Try this  link
and you will see that they left June 22 1904 (curious as the house hold reg say they left in August) heading for Winnipeg. They used the Canadian Line and the ship Tasso

I also recommend
this site showing interesting info around Norwegian departures

Better than I expected!  Many Swedes from the northern areas traveled via Trondheim so here they are: Ship as you can see is Tasso
translations: g=gift (married), k=kvinner (woman), m=man,
barn=child, and I believe the last bit means they bought tickets in Trondheim for direct to Winnipeg journey.  Gift also translates as poison

Thanx again to all who replied to my first reqest for information. I have a general inquery about emigration from Trondheim to Canada. Would the emigrants take the same ship from Trondheim to Hull in England and then from Hull to Canada? I have found some information about the ship Tosso (2) but not sure if this is the ship from Trondheim to Hull or is it the ship from Hull to Canada . This emigration happened in June of 1904. I would appreciate any information about how anyone would have emigrated on this route around this time.  Thanx in advance for any information.

so this Norwegian page doesn't seem quite in agreement with the info from the digital archives page which info is given above and shows a date of 22.06.1904.  Could it be that the 22.6.1904 is the departure date from Trondheim and the 23.6.1904 is the departure date from the last Norwegian port?  I do think so.  That's a short way to travel down the Norwegian coast to Kristiansund and Alesund.
At least the evidence is there that Tasso, not Tosso, did travel from Trondheim to Hull.  From Hull they likely went by railroad to Liverpool and arriving in time for a transatlantic ship taking them to America.

Stuart,

The Tasso (2) was a Wilson line ship, a feeder ship to Hull, England.  The date shown as 22.06.1904 is most likely the date they registered with the police in Trondheim, since I found the ship's departure date as 23.06.1904 and emigrants always had to be in Trondheim at least one day prior to sailing.

The normal route from Hull was by train to Liverpool, and then embarking on a large Atlantic steamship, most likely one from the Allan Steamship Line.  The Allan Line is the Canadian shipping line that sailed directly to Quebec and Montreal.

The journey from Trondheim to Canada usually took close to 2 weeks.  Your ancestors could have sailed on the same ship as my great-uncle who arrived Quebec July 22 1904 on one of the Allan Line ships, the SS Tunisian.  Or perhaps, they came on the earlier ship before that which was the SS Bavarian which arrived Quebec July 8, 1904.  It depends if there were any delays along the way such as having to wait a few days in Liverpool to board the Atlantic liner.

I live in Canada and have also done research for my ancestors. Email me directly if you like, and I will tell you how I found this information.
