Landin,Charles arrived in New York, New York State,July 2, 1870

Charles Landin stated his intention to become a citizen of United States on a document in Tippecanoe County Indiana. No date was on the form to indicate when the form was signed.
However, Charles' date of arrival in USA was given as July 2, 1870.and the departure location written as Gottenberg.He probably left Sweden in June 1870.
 
I would appreciate knowing if there is a record of  Charles' emigration in June 1870 and what it says.His birth year may be 1848.
 
Please also look to see if a Carl Johan Nilsson born Oct.1,1848 Ukna parish, emigrated from Gottenberg in June 1870. Carl and Charles may be the same person as the Carl I know of changed his name in Sweden.

Ishbel, I found one Carl Gustaf Lundin in the CD Emigranten. Don?t know if it is yours thougt.
CARL GUSTAF LUNDIN
24 years old male, left Gothenburg April 23, 1870
with destination New York. Unfortunatly there is no parish listed. On the same ticket left  
EVA THEKLA LUNDIN 22 years old female.

Carl Johan Nilsson, born at Ukna 1848, left from Ringarum parish in 1885, so he could not be the one you are looking for.

The parish records say that he left in 1885 but they also say that he left every year from 1870 to 1885. The relatives he stayed with moved from there in 1873. His father's bouppteckning
says he was in America in March of 1880.  
 
I am still trying to find Carl Johan Nilsson's location in USA.
Two younger brothers, of Carl's, emigrated from Sweden, in different years.(1878 and 1882) They both had a destination of Lafayette, Indiana so I was guessing that because the above Charles Landin signed his papers in Lafayette Indiana and had the same birth year as Carl Johan Nilsson, Carl and Charles might be the same person. My grandfather,August Nilsson also signed his citizenship papers with the name Landin in Lafayette Indiana in 1880.

What is the original source for Emibas? Is it not the actual passenger list?  
 
Because, as Ishbel writes, Carl Johan Nilsson is said to have left for America already in the 1861-71 household record for Ringarum (AI:22 p.315). He came to Ringarum in Dec 1869. In the next record (AI:26 p.328) he is said to have moved to America without a certificate of change of adress (flyttbetyg). On Nov 7th 1885 he is finally written off as having moved to America, and given a certificate number (AI:35 p.391). It seems that he had actually left between Dec 1869 and the end of 1871.
