Mathew Olson/Olsson

I am looking for my some info about my childrens' great-grandfather, Mathew Olson.  He immigrated to the USA from Sweden in the late 1800's.  The family first moved to Minnesota, and then to Nehalem, Oregon.  I think Mathew's father was Ola Mattsson, who remained in Sweden.

Sorry for the lack of information!  I know that Mathew Olson was the eldest son of Ola Olsson, from Stiby, Mjallby, Sweden.  I have found an Ola Olsson from Stiby, Mjallby, born 10-7-1879 (death unknown), but I have no documentation or proof that this Ola is the father of Mathew.
 
I know that Olsson (or Olson) is a common name in Sweden, so I do not want to just assume that this Ola is Mathew's father.

To Folke:  Thank you for your reply.  I was unable to contact you.  Yes, my childrens' great-grandfather, Mats (Mathew) Ollson was born on 12-17-1858 in Hallevik, Mjallby, Blekinge, Sweden.  A Swedish gentleman has traced the family back to 1794.  I am very grateful.
 
I would like to find any relatives that my children may have in Sweden.  I would also like to know if anyone has any information before Mats Larsson, who was a fisherman.  He was born on 8-10-1794 in Norje, Ysane, and died in Hallevik, Mjallby on 10-31-1853.  Thank you.
