Min släkting Alfred Martinson född i Slimminge 1881-12-11 (under namn Alfred Larsson) immigrerade till USA 1905 och finns med i 1910 Federal Census. Han fanns då i Valdez, Division 3, Alaska. Sedan har jag inte kunnat finna honom. Är det någon som har något tips?

I am most greatful for your respons. Since I started my research 2006 I have been looking for  Alfred. His parents are Lars Mårtensson born i Villie 9/9 1841 and Sissa Olsdotter born in Skivarp 8/9 1843 both in Malmöhus.
In fact, Alfreds brother Magnus Martinson born 20/10 1870 emigrated illegally (did not appear at military drafting) from Sweden around 1888. When Alfred entered US 1905 he told the immigration that he should meet his brother Magnus Martinson at Opechea P. O. Box 55 and he had a ticket to Calumet Michigan. I have looked for the two brothers in the area but not got any trace of them. The area is a copper mining district with not very many swedes but more finnish people. The mining industry was declining in Michigan after 1905 and they might have heard about the booming mining industry in Alaska.
I am really looking forward to your check up of this trace in British Columbia.

Hi Thomas,
I was able to check British Columbia Marriage Registrations on familysearch.org and there i can see that Alfred Martinson married in Kamloops had a father called Martin Hendrickson from Ramsala Sweden. Thus he is not the Alfred Martinson from Alaska.
 
However in the meantime I also got the following information:
 
US Naturalization Record for Alfred Martininson which he initiated on 23 Feb 1910 while in Seattle, Washington before going to Alaska in 1910. Source citation: National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); Washington, D.C.; Naturalization Records of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, 1890-1957; Microfilm Serial: M1542; Microfilm Roll; 6. He listed the following information:
Name - Alfred Martinson  age - 28 years
Occupation - Railroad man;    Color - white;    Complextion - Light;   Weight - 195 pounds;   Hair Color - Brown;   Eyes - Blue;   No visable defective marks;
Born - in Slimminge, Sweden;   Born on - 11 day of December 1881;   Residence - 3 Washington St., Seattle, Washington;   Emigrated from - Malmo, Sweden;
Vessel -  Coronia; Lived in Liverpool, England before he left Europe;   Arrived in New York on 25th of October, 1905;   Missed Height - 5 ft, 10 inches.
