My g.grandmother Hulda Nilsdotter född 5 aug 1887 i Överkalix went from Sweden to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1911.
(My grandfather was sent home as a child in 1913)
She re-married to Godfrey Charles Anderson.
They had two children.

After the death of Robert,(30 oct 1961), Ruby got married a second tim to Wm E Boron, (says the obit).

I would be more than happy if someone could help me find relatives who might still be living in Canada.

Best regards
Niklas Nyström, Sweden

Hi Niklas,
Finding living relatives in Canada is a challenge without a specific place to search. It is even more challenging when they have common names such as Moore. The women are probably  married and thus have different surnames.
You may try your luck with the Canadian White Pages (telephone book): http://www.canada411.ca/ and follow up with letters to those with potential.

Regards,
Ernst Stjernberg

Thanks Ernst,

I think that all the children were living in Toronto in the 60-ies.

Yes,the girls I guess have married and changed their names and the boys do have such common names so I cant really use Canada411,

Alice and Kennets daughter Lorrein ore Lorelein Fraser.
She had a boy Bruce and a girl Shelby but I don´t the name of their father so I guess it´s a dead end.

Rubys last known adress,(1961)is: 47 Edge Park Ave, Scarboro. But I don´t know how to get in contact hith those who may live at that adress today.

Roberts obit says he was a member RCE. M.E. Lake Superior Regiment. But I dont know where to search for records acording to this?

Thanks to anyone who will help me.

/Niklas

Niklas,

If this Scarboro you mentioned is the same one that I found by googling Scarboro, then it is a neighborhood in Calgary (the city), Alberta (the province), Canada.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarboro,_Calgary

Perhaps someone on a Canadian message board could direct you further. Rootsweb and Genforum have boards for Canada, and you can narrow down the search to the province and even the town.

http://genforum.genealogy.com/canada/

The above page lets you select Regions. Look at the top right of the page.

http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada/mb.ashx

There is a Scarborough in Ontario province, however, but if the correct spelling is Scarboro, then search in Alberta and not in Ontario. Perhaps the address was near Scarboro Beach, for example. (I know nothing about this location. I am just googling.)

I don't have access to Canadian records. I think you need to get help from Canadians. ;-) Try those message boards listed above.

Scarborough is part of Toronto now - do you have the postal code of the address? It will tell you if it is Scarborough, Ontario or Scarboro, Alberta. My suspicion is that it is Scarborough, Ontario.

If they were in the Toronto area, it is probably a spelling mistake and a very common one. You can look on google maps for 47 Edge Park Avenue, Toronto, Ontario and look at a street view. If there are any outside photos, it may provide some clues.

Lake Superior is in Ontario. A Robert H. Moore served in the Belgian Congo as a Peacekeeper around 1960 where he lost his life. (From what I understand of this link.)

Judy and Mary - thanks for your effort!
Judy, I´ve placed a question on the message boards you linked to.
Mary, I don´t think this is the right mr Moore as his obit says he died at the Sunnybrook hospital
I´ll try to attach the obit were the spelling is Scarboro, but as you say I think it´s in Ontario.

regards / Niklas

Hi Niklas,
There are a couple of other avenues you could try:
There are volunteers doing Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness and you will find a list for Ontario here: http://www.raogk.org/ontario.htm.
You could also contact the Ontario Genealogical Society and ask for research help. You will find contact information here: http://www.ogs.on.ca/home/contactus.php.

There is also a slight possibility that this person in Burlington, Ontario is Dolly's husband, or a relative:
Cruise H
1285 Ontario St 1007
Burlington, ON L7S 1X9
Tel.289-337-4394
While the postal address is in Burlington it falls within the Fort Erie region, and is less than 100 km from Fort Erie according to Google Maps.

Regards
Ernst

Some more options:
The funeral home mentioned in the obit may be able to give some more leads. Contact info is here: http://www.giffenmackdanforth.com/dm20/en_CA/locations/37/3778/common/about-us/c ontact-us.page?.
If Robert was a member of RCEME (Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) Lake Superior Regiment, he was probably with the Canadian Army in Normandy from July 1944. This regiment was part of the 4th Armoured Brigade, 4th Armoured Division of the Canadian Army. They fought on Juno Beach.
Canadian veterans have an organization called Royal Canadian Legion. You can contact the Ontario command here: http://www.on.legion.ca/contact/command_office.asp. They could give you further directions of where you could find information on Robert and possibly other leads to his relatives. Good luck!

Ernst - your suggestions are most apreceated, thank you very much!
I´ve sent questions to the links you gave me.

From the old letters that Hulda wrote to her daghter in law, (my grandmother), I can read that Robert worked for Auro ltd AF Malton. I don´t know when he worked there ore if it´s connected to the Canadian Army in any way?

If some kind person could find the obit for Ruby Eleanor Anderson-Moore-Boron, d.6 mar 1994 in Toronto, pherhaps one could find clues about their children.

Thank you all for helping me so much!
/Niklas

Niklas,

Curiosity brought me to you post. I grew up in Canada.

You may already know this, but have a look at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Canada

Malton, Ontario is northwest of Toronto, a suburb of Mississauga. It was where they manufactured aircraft, so connected to the Canadian Air Force not army. Google Malton, Ontario.

cheers
Karina
