The attached image is of a confirmation bible that is the only primary sourced information we have for Axel Andersson and Hilda Maria before migrating to America; my paternal great-great grandparents. I'm looking to find documentation on their parentage.
Translation and orientation(credit:S. Anderson):
Inscription in Axel Andersson's Bible A New Testament Bible in the Swedish language was given to Stuart Duerr Anderson by his father, George Allund Anderson Jr. (GAA Jr). It is missing all pages before page 7 in Matthew 2:7 and all pages after page 538 in Revelation 20:3. The inscription is inside the front cover. All lines but the last are in the hand of Dean Westberg of Sandseryds Church. The last line, written in a child's hand in 1919, is probably due to GAA Jr, who was then 6 years old. Sandseryds Church is located near the Jönköping Airport in Norrahammar, Jönköping Municipality, Småland, Sweden, 9 km southwest of Jönköping city. Bårarp is located in Lekeryd, Jönköping Municipality, Småland, Sweden, 23 km east of Jönköping city. Hilda Maria is likely Hilda Maria Johansson, who later married Axel and bore five children, including GAA Sr, the father of GAA Jr. Denna Heliga Bok afverlemnas till Axel Andersson i Bårarp på dess Confirmationes dag i Sandseryds Kyrka dena 6 juni 1858 F Westberg prost Philosophie Magister Axel Andersson är född den 4 Desember 1842 Hilda Maria är född den 22 oktober 1848 (illegible) 1919 – 1858 = 61 This Holy Book (Bible) was presented to Axel Andersson of Bårarp on his Confirmation Day in Sandseryds Church, June 6, 1858. The closest I've come to locating any possible information is in a Swedish language post made here by Lotta Nordin (Lotta) on 2004-05-04, identifying a Hilda Maria born on the same date as is recorded to parents in Båarp Norrgården in Sandseryd:
Anders Johan Jonasson, born 1821 29/5 in Sandseryd, and
Maja Stina Danielsdotter, born 1825 4/6 in Ödestugu.
----
Conjectural information:
Within the family, Axel is identified as having the middle name Andrew(Anders);
The tombstone of Axel lists his birth as 1843;
The supposed migration date of Axel and Hilda is 1870 with one son, Karl, born in 1869 beforehand in Sweden.
Greetings,
-Mike
