Attached are copies of two Muster records: 1686 and 1688.  The soldier's name is Måns Gummesson and he is from Fallnaveka, Berga parish, Kronoberg.   Can anyone tell me what the circled notes say?

1686
Generalmönsterrullor - Kronobergs regemente (G) 324 (1686) Image 66 / Page 120 (AID: v46661.b66.s120, NAD: SE/KrA/0023)

1688 note:
Rullor 1620-1723 1688:6 (1688) Image 500 / Page 48 (AID: v751821.b500.s48, NAD: SE/KrA/0022)

Thanks for any help with this,

Vicki

Both books says the same, Måns Gummesson is hired because the last guy, Bengt Nilsson, can't be found any more.

I am trying to discern the Harad and Sochn on the attached document.  It looks like Sunnerbo Harad and possibly Vittaryd?  Is that correct?

Thanks for your help,

Vicki

Thanks so much, Kalle.  I am trying to find a link between Berga and Vittaryd. I know that my ancestor was lliving in Fallnaveka in Berga parish.  The only soldier record I have been able to find so far is:

GUDMUNDSSON Måns
Släktnamn: Gudmundsson
Född: -
Död: 1705
Antagen: 1686
Avsked: 1705
Aktnummer: KR-05-0688-1686
Regemente: Kronobergs regemente
Rote: Ubbeboda
Kompani: LJUNGBY KOMPANI
Socken: VITTARYD
Torpnummer: KR-05-0688

The time frame works.  When researching through the Rullor 1620-1723 records I couldn't find a record for him in 1686 December muster.  I found him in 1688. But then couldn't find after that.  I did find a Måns Gummesson in Vittaryd, Ubbeboda rote as soldier # 79 from 1699- June 1702 and then lost him.

Most recently I've been looking through the Berga parish military records, which is where I found him in 1686 and 1688.

I have no idea if these two different soldiers named Måns Gummesson are the same person or not.  Could Måns have signed up in Berga, but been placed in Vittaryd to cover for the missing solldier, but then stayed there?  Is this a possibility?  I initially thought they were two different people, but have been rethinking this.

I'm going to go through all of these records again take another look in case I missed anything as I've learned a bit about the military structure in the process.  By the way, is Bergia same as Berga?

If you have any suggestions or comments, I'd really like the input.

Thanks for your help,

Vicki
