Will someone look at the attached 1744 birth record and tell me if Ingeborg is the child's name - I think it is a birth record for twins but I'm not sure.   Also, I'm trying figure out the father's name and if the mother's name is listed at all.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I'm trying to find a marriage record for Ingeborg ? and  Jacob Swensson (his second wife)   He and his first wife, Britta, lived in Malmeryd, Angelstad and all their children were born there.  She died in 1768.  He remarried sometime between 1768 and 1770 (presumably) when a child named Britta was born (in Rået per her birth record if I read correctly) - she is listed on the first available household exam record for Angelstad with Jacob and new wife Ingeborg, but the mother's name is not listed on the birth record.  All other children of Jacob and Ingeborg (for whom I found birth records) were born in Malmeryd.

Not finding a marriage record, I looked for a death record in Malmeryd (where I knew they were living) for an Ingeborg and found an Ingeborg Swensdotter listed there in 1816 who died at age 72 in Malmeryd which would match up with the 1744 birth year listed on the household exam records I found.   I also found a death record for widower Jacob Swensson in 1818 at age 92, which matchs up with his 1726 birth year.

It looks like either Ingeborg and Jacob both had fathers named Sven or Ingeborg name is listed incorrectly.  Hmmm.

I can't find a birth record for an Ingeborg Svensson and her patronymic name is not listed anywhere that I can find - since I can't find their marriage record.

The Angelstad records don't go back as far as some other parishes, and I guess I may never know.

Probably more information than you bargained for  :) but am trying to learn all I can.   If you managed to read through my rambling, maybe you have another idea where I might look?

Thanks for any help,

Vicki Cihla

The vicarage/pastorship consisted of Ljungby, Angelstad and Kånna parishes, so I would at first try Ljungby as it could be the parent Assembly.
