On the attached image, I have translated that Karin Elvira Viktoria Sjolin was a staff nurse and died at Helsingborg hospital, but need some help with the following:
1. Under her name description not sure what the "Viv Pershag" is, or if that is even correct?
2. Under what she died from, what did she die from?
3. Also under what she died from, what does the number represent and is it 3020B?

Thank you!

Steve Wilson

Hi Steve!

She lived in"Kv Pershag" Kv = Quarter/block Pershag

She died of " Vitium organicum cordis"
It's latin and you can use google translate for the right translation!

3020B is statistic number for the death resaon!

Thank you Per.  That is very helpful.

Does that basically translate to, "She lived on Pershag Street in Helsingborg?

The google translation to English was "Vice organic heart", so a bad heart?

I find the archives fascinating and can't wait to see them in person.  Hopefully soon, my wife and I will make the trip. She is a Sjolin.

Maud, thank you!  I started researching my wife's family after she had a DNA test through Ancestry.com.  I am learning quickly that I should be using their records for the initial information and then going to the Swedish Archives to see the originals.  I am a beginner at using the archives, but I assume you knew to use the Höganäs parish books and then found this by searching on her death date?

No, Pershög (note, Pershög, not Pershag) is the name of the quarter/block where she lived. One way to find where it is located might be the tax record (mantalslängd) and it works in this case. She is 1941 found in (this source identification from ArkivDigital) Häradsskrivaren i Helsingborgs fögderi (M) FIa:67 (1941) Bild 1360 (AID: v347661.b1360, NAD: SE/LLA/10910) and it looks like this: To the right you find the road address, Lerbergsvägen. It is quite possible that you also find the name of her mother.

They don't give clear indications of the property number within the quarter, but it might be Pershög 2, which is the street address Lerbergsvägen 59B. You should be able to use hitta.se to locate this place. The house might or might not be the same as when she lived there. And the number might be wrong, just a probable guess. And you should learn to read and write Swedish letters, her last name is Sjölin.

Leif, thank you so much.  I am sorry about the spelling, my keyboard and I are learning to use the Swedish letters.  This is a wonderful piece of information about their residence.  Is this information available in the Swedish Archives or do I need a subscription to Arkivdigital to see it online?

Thank you all!

You are using Riksarkivet, right? Most material is found at both places but the quality of ArkivDigital is much better. I'm not sure about tax records, maybe only at ArkivDigital, but I am not very familiar with Riksarkivet.

Leif, I am using Riksarkivet though I am not good at using it yet.  I looked for several hours trying to find tax records there, but could not find anything.  I don't think that means for sure that they are not there.  thank you again, I will look into ArkivDigital.
