August Backlund

[Georgina Smith]

I found August Backlund and Kristina Ljung living together in Gard in the Ostersund parish in 1890 Census. August was born in 1851 but I can't figure out where - maybe Norway.
 
Kristina was born in Aflo 26 Nov 1861 to Nils Ljung and Sigrid Pettersdotter.
 
I wish to find more info on them. Did they ever marry? Are they found in 1900 Census?

According to the 1890 Census, August was born in Fjällsjö parish, Jämtland's county and he was a clock-maker.
 
Kristina Ljung is his house-keeper.
 
In 1900 August Backlund lived alone at Skönsmon in Skön parish, Västernorrland county.
 
In 1900 Kristina is a seamstress and lives at Åflo in Offerdal. She lives with Sigrid Pettersdotter, born 1829 in Offerdal, who might be her mother.

Yes, Sigrid Pettersdotter is her mother!
 
So, it looks to me like Kristina never married or had children, because by 1900 she was age 39.
 
I know that Sigrid was still living in 1913.

While I this thursday was searching for another related at Revsund parish (Z) in GID: 9.9.24000 I noticed on page 257  August Backlund, watchmaker?s worker, b 1851 21/11 at Fjällsjö V Norrland (Y) moved 1894 to Utbyn no 2, Revsund from Östersund 1894 27/11 (no 271) together with Kristina Ljung, Housekeeper, b 1861 26/11 Offerdal (Z) (no 272).

Georgina! It is nice to be able to give some help. Now I have looked in Disbyt and found some ancestors to your August Backlund, and it showed that this Backlund is probably not related to the ancestors I have been searching for. My Backlund changed from Jonsson to Backlund around 1805.
