Hi Anita thanks very much for your reply and information.  Just curious though is the 1880 Census the only one available??  I am still trying to find CARL/KARL Frederik HALLGREN leaving Sweden and the last record I have of him is a tax record around 1886, I still really don't know the date of this document.  I know he could have gone to the USA then to Australia (Victoria).  Still trying to track his movements.  Many thanks for your help.  Dianna

Hi everyone I am trying to locate my family of interest on the 1870 Census and previous if possible. Brother August HALLGREN was born 18 December 1823 in FALUN he married his wife Signe / Sigrid? OLOFSDOTTER August 9, 1849 in Vemdalens.   Sigrid Olsdotter is from the farm called Graven in Vemdalen

[/size]Sigrid died 22/3/1879 in Jarvso. Bror August died in [/size]5/11/1877 both in Jarvso.

[/size]Sigrid? had a daughter by the name of Brita Cattrina (illegitimate). [/size]BRITA CATHRINA HALLGREN born 1846-08-20, came from Hudiksvall 1867, died in 1869 after giving birth to Carl Frederick HALLGREN (aka Thorslund).

[/size]Therefore would there be any census records for the family?  I can only find Carl Frederik HALLGREN on the 1880 Census.  Also I'm hoping to discover the name of Brita Cattrina's father!!  ( I thought the local priest may have insisted on his name!!!).  Still gathering information on the family.  Thanks for any help.  Kindest regards Dianna from Australia

Hi Everyone
  I am doing more research on Carl Frederik Hallgren who was in Australia (Victoria) from 1888 according to his death certificate in 1910. He was born 1869-70 and the only Carl Frederick Hallgren I can find is the one who was the illegitimate son of Brita Hallgren, she died in 1869 8 day's after her son was born.  I have been given information on this forum before which I am very grateful for and I am now trying to find more information on the Hallgren family.  Bror Olof Hallgren was the brother of Brita and he was the witness to Carls baptism.  Unfortunately Carl was adopted out to the Lindberger family, Axel Gustav Lindberger and his wife Josefina Carlsson.
 
I have tried to find out when/where Carl Frederick Hallgren emigrated from and the only one I could find on ancestry is one from Hamburg to Brazil??? I have just received Charles (as he is known in Australia) marriage certificate and it states that his parents were Charles Frederick Hallgren and Mary Anderson.  Is there anyway to find out more on Carl F. Hallgren.  Is the one in Victoria we are descended from the illegitimate son of Brita Hallgren?  Her parents were Bro August Hallgren b 1823 Falun and Signe Olofsdotter.  Any help very much appreciated.  Regards Dianna from Sydney Australia

Hi Everyone This is my first time posting a message here so please forgive any errors.  I'm doing researh into Karl/Charles Frederik Hallgren who was born in Stockholm, in 1869.  He came to Victoria, Australia in I think the late 1880's.  His first child was born in Victoria in 1892, he married Kate Cunningham in 1897 and he died in Victoria 1910.  From what I have been seeing on the message board there are people who have CD'S with emmigrants listed.  If anyone could have a look for this Karl Hallgren I would be very grateful.  Kind regards Dianna
