Archive - Swedish names / Petrus Mansson
« skrivet: 2010-01-29, 21:29 »
I am looking for information on Petrus Mansson who was born August 4, 1730 in Norrby(?), near Grebo in Östergotland. His son was Magnus Petersson born December 20, 1774 in Norrby. I would like to know if anyone could locate Petrus's parents as well as his date of death?

Archive - Swedish names / Olof Svensson of Sarpebo, Grebo
« skrivet: 2010-01-31, 04:48 »
I am searching for a family record of OLOF SVENSSON. Born about 1669. Deceased 1736-06-14 in Sarpebo, Grebo . I am looking for his possible daughter, Margareta Olofsdotter who married Måns Pehrsson on October 14, 1722 (AD Online : Grebo C:2, p 281). This may not be her father but Måns and Margareta lived at Sarpebo at the time of their marriage. If anyone can let me know if this is a match I would be most grateful.

Archive - General questions / Farming Practices
« skrivet: 2000-03-29, 21:41 »
I would like to hear from someone who is familiar with the farming practices in the area of Sinnberg, Näs parish, Jämtland.  I have an old post card, very faint, probably about year 1900, which is a view of a farm overlooking Månsta Näs.  It has what appears to be stone fences.  Was it common to build fences of stone?  Also, how did the farmer dry his hay?  Was the grass that was mowed hung over the fences, left in rows, shocked or made into piles?  Did the farm animals live in their own quarters or were the animals housed in the same structure as the farmer's household?

Hello

My  ancestors were farmers in Grebo parish, Ostergotland during the 19th century and I was inquiring as to the variety of crops that would have been grown in this area.
