Bjurtjärn / Peter Eriksson
« skrivet: 2023-08-07, 02:18 »
Hej,

I am trying to find where Peter Eriksson f. 1738 comes from. I have found him in the following places in the Bjurtjärn Husförhör:
Ai 5, Pg 96 Alkvittern GID 464.5.104100    it says he moved somewhere in 1772 but I can't read where.
Ai 6, Pg 105 Alkvittern GID 464.7.2100 until he marries in 1776, then moves to Pg 98 Hult GID 464.7.1400
Marriage - E1, Pg 81, GID 64.49.15500
AI 7, Pg 99 Alkvittern Lilla GID 464.8.14400
Ai 8, Pg 100 Fageråsen GID 464.9.29900
Ai 9, p 121 Fageråsen GID 464.10.45100 where he dies

Many of these records show 1738 as year of birth. In AI 7, Pg 99 it shows "Lungs" as place of birth. This is the only place I can find any clue as to where he came from. I can find no Peter Erickson born in Lungsund socken in 1738.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking to find him before 1769 when I first see him in Bjurtjärn?

Thanks,
Karl Fryklind

Hej,

Is anyone researching this family?

I can't find Sara in hfl after Eric Andersson dies.

I am trying to determine where Petter ended up and whether he could have been mjölnaren in Bjurtjärn after 1776. (Bjurtjärn hfl:  Ai5 Sid 96 Alkvittern; Ai6 Sid 105 Alkvittern; Ai 6 Sid 98 Hult; Ai7 Sid 99 Alkvittern Lilla; Ai8 Fageråsen Pg 100; Ai9 Fageråsen p 121)  In the Hfl Ai7 (GID 464.8.14400) there he was said to be born in Lungs. in 1738 but I have been unable to locate him there.

I believe No. 6 on this page says where my FF FF FF, Anders Pålsson, was born in 1738 but I can't make sense of it.  I just stumbled across it tonight.  I'm not even sure why he is listed on this page. (Perhaps some trouble he was in?)

If someone could tell me where it says he was born you would help me.

Ane Margrethe Pedersdatter is my Mormors Farmors Mor.  I have found her death record and her marriage record but have not found a birth record.  I don't read the writing so well and wonder if there is anything to connect the birth record that I think could be her to the other two records. The sources of the records are below. I will attach the birth record to this post and the othe records on additional posts.  Any advice would be welcomed.  I have found her in the 1834 census but not in the 1801 census.

Hej!

I am trying to find out where Magnus Larson and Sara Ferdinandsdotter came to Varnum from or where they were born.  According to the Hfl. they lived at Fallet together from they 1870s until Magnus Larson died there in 1802.  Sara lived there until at least 1811.  (I don't know when she died.)  Their children (Lars, Maria, Sara, Britta, Magnus and Anders) were all born there.  At his death, Magnus was said to be 47 yrs 3 mos ?? days old (Genline 537.11.2900) which would make his birth be in July 1855.  One Hfl. (Varnum, Ai:8, Pg. 107) indicates he was born in 1769.  I can't find where he came from.  I have information from others that Sara Ferdinandsdotter was born 14 Feb 1757 but again I don't know where.  Can someone help me find where they came from?

Hej Hjördis!

I found Joseph Anderson in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census.  I will e-mail you copies.  I cannot locate Andrew.  If one could find an obituary of Joseph in a newspaper, it may identify where Andrew lived (assuming he was alive) at the time Joseph died.  Unfortunately, Ong is a small town and would not have a newspaper.  It is not located near enough to a larger town to know for certain where such an obituary would be published.  I will look some more for Andrew.

Hej Bosse!

I found him in the census for 1910 and 1930.  I didn't find him in the index for 1920, but a page by page search would probably find him.  Here are the references:

1930 United States Federal Census > Illinois > LaSalle > Streator > District 11  (On east Hickory)

1910 United States Federal Census > Illinois > Lasalle > 5-Wd Streator > District 82  (I can't read the street name but the number in front of the record is 808)

Hej Jan Lilliesköld!

I hope you read English.  I write too slow in Swedish, but I can read it hjälpligt med en ordbok.

I am replying to two of your questions.

First, I think Kronodelen is near (or part of) W Glänne.  As it appears in Hfl. Ai 9 page 129 (Genline GID 480.21.111600).

Second, regarding your question about Bryngel Håkansson d. 1726.  My  FF FF MF FF is Matthes Bryngelsson f. September 04, 1687 i Lene. I believe, but I am not certain, that Bryngel Håkansson is his father.  I have looked at Mantelslängder for Bryngel Håkansson and found him in Lene many years but found no real evidence of who his children were. I have read questions on this forum that suggest he was either married three times or there was more than one Bryngel Håkansson.  I have also written to the Värmlands Arkiv for a record of his estate but there is none.  (here is the e-post response from the arkiv: Jag har letat i vår bouppteckningsregister men har inte funnit Bryngel Håkansson. Det finns inte så många bouppteckningar från 1700-talets första del.)

If you find out anything about Bryngel Håkansson, I would like to know.  I will post anything I find.

Hej Christer!

I have previously found Westman in Linköping and his parents Sven Abraham Westman and Hedvig Charlotta Gunther and many additional ancestors.

I have received much information in the last week so I am still digesting it all.  Always on Anbytarforum I ask a question and get tons of information.  In addition to what Calle wrote above she e-mailed me an interesting link (http://www.algonet.se/~hogman/slb_slag_dk_1848_uoff2.htm) that showed Gustav Constans Westman tjänstgjorde mellan 30/6 och 3/10 1848 i det dansk-tyska kriget 1848 - 1850.  And a relative, Lasse, who I met on anbytarforum and then met for real in Norrköping sent me additional info.

As I wrote in my post above, Westman went to Laholm in 1849 with Sara Charlotta Trybom and her two children.  I believe he is the father of three of her children but I have no proof.  Sara Charlotta is min Farmors Farmor.  Jag tror Gustav Constans Vestman är min farmors farfar, men jag vet inte.

Lasse found out that Gustav Constans Vestman utflyttad ifrån Östra Karup till Dalarö (Stockholm) i 1853

In Dalarö he got married, to Caroline Augusta Wilhelmina Lindberg in 1856.

I found him in Dalarö, married with children

I am missing where he went in 1849 when he went to Laholm and were he was until he was in Östra Karup in 1853. I have only been looking beyond 1850 since Calle wrote above that he was still alive in 1890 (if I am right by then he had many barnbarn i USA including my grandmother that he knew nothing about).  He and Sara Charlotta apparently split up in Laholm - or maybe never arrived, because I can't find them there.  She made up a story that he was a Captain that died at sea. Min faster told me the story and I believed it until I read what Calle wrote above.  Sara Charlotta Trybom went her own way back to Linköping, where she married a man named Roxberg.  She, Roxberg, her children (oakta barn) that I think Westman fathered, and her children with Roxberg emmigrated till USA. All of the children took the Roxberg name, but he was not the father of the first three.

Jag tror tiden mellen 1849 och 1853 spelar en viktig roll. (To find out what happend between Sara Charlotta and Gustaf Constans Westman.)

Anyway, that's what I know this week. It's way more than I knew last week.

Tack,

Karl Fryklind i Nebraska

Thank you so much for the information. This is the right man.  Sara Charlotta Trybom was my FM FM.  Jag tror Gustaf Constans Vestman är min FM FF.  He and Sara were never married, but lived together for several years.  Apparently he left her in Laholm and she invented the story that he died at sea.

Hej!

Gustaf Constans Westman left Linköping Oct 10, 1849 to go to Laholm.  Sara Charlotte Trybom and two children went with him.  (According to GID 333.69.66700, Östergötland, Linköping, B4 Page 83, numbers 184 and 185.)  Gustav Westman is said in family stories to have died at sea.  I have searched page by page in the hfl. and death records for Laholm but can't find either Gustaf Westman eller Sara Charlotta Trybom.  I can find Sara Charlotta later when she returns to Linköping without Gustaf Westman.  Can someone help me find Gustaf Westman or Sara Charlotta in Laholm?  I believe Westman was in the Navy or similar military branch if that helps.

I am having trouble reading any of the text in GID 340.31.13400.  From other records, I believe Lars Svensson was born 23 May 1770 in Motala.  At the bottom of this page and the top of the next is an entry for May 23, 1770.  I can't read the record even well enough to tell what the names of the child or parents are.  I see in one place in the record it mentions a wedding (Vidges 10 Febr 1769).  This is GID 340.30.99900 which I can't read either.  Can someone help me read who was born on May 23, 1770 in that record?

Hej!

Jag tror min farfras farfars farfar Anders Pålsson var födde i Grava på 1738 men jag vet inte  födelsedatum eller var.  This is from the birth information in Frykerud Hfl.  On www.familysearch.org they have indexed the Grava birth records:

Source Information:
Batch Number: C402313
Source Dates: 1737 - 1802
Film or Fiche Number: 81879
Collection Details: Grava; Svenska Kyrkan

In this there is an Anders Pahlsson döpt 10 Jul 1737.  I wonder if this is the Anders Pålsson that eventually ended up in Frykerud.

My Genline subscription has expired and I will soon renew it.   But I have tried previously to read the birth records on Genline but the script is so small and my ability is so poor I can't read it.

Hibbing is on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota, so Andrew may have worked in the iron mines.

Does anyone know whether a Lovisa Andersdotter was born in Karlskoga omkring November 18, 1849.  Her parents were Anders Magnusson and Katharina Petersdotter.  She was my farfars mor.

Thank you,

Hej!

Can someone help me find information about skräddare Jon Kinmann f. December 04, 1797 i Ödeshög according to Motala Parrish Husförhörslängd 1829-1832 Page 344 and Husförhörslängd 1824-1828 Pages 328 and 233.  I cannot locate him in Ödeshög or find his birth record.

Hej Inga!

That is Maria Magdalena Lindberg d. February 27, 1822 i Porsnäs, Tryserum, Småland, Sweden.  The death record (Genline 166.44.56900) lists her birth date and location (April 22, 1752 i Västervik, Kalmar, Sweden) och her father as Niklas Lindberg.  However, the birth record from Västervik (Genline 190.99.48300) lists parents as Nils Carlsson Lindberg och perhaps Sara Margarita Strömbom.  I can't read the mother's last name clearly.

Sorry for writing in English.  Writing in Swedish takes me much longer and I'm not sure what I'm saying.

Hej!

Is it possible that this is Olaf (not Olaus) Trybom who owned 1/8 of Porsnäs in 1822?  Other records indicate that Olaf Trybom was born in Tryserum March, April or May 7, 1770 and the connection to Porsnäs makes me think that this is likely.

I wonder if someone can help me read this,  There seems to be much information about where they came from and went, but I can't read it.  I would like to know where they were before they got married.

Hej!

(Just in case my translation is bad, here is my query på engelska.  Agneta Charlotta Carpelan b. 1772 was married to Christian Gynther in Holmen, Dunker, Södermanland, Sweden on December 15, 1791.  I believe he was born in Ekhammar, Grevbäck, Skaraborg, Sweden on May 27, 1756.  I don't know where she was born.  Is there someone who knows whether Agneta Charlotta Carpelan was born in Dunker?)

Hej,

I wonder if someone could help me find out where to look for Hedvig Christina Gynther f. September 23, 1792 in Askersund (stads eller lands jag vet inte).  Should I look in both stads and lands kyrkoböcker?

Hej!

I have three questions about ancestors from Frykerud.  I hope someone can help me. You can see from my name that I have roots in Frykerud.

First, min farfars farfars farfar Anders Pålsson, f. 1738, appeared in W Ringstad in 1781 (Husförhörslangd, Ai 9 Pg 131) med hustru och barn.  I can't understand where he came from.  There is a note in the left margin that says 1781 från Ånå...   or something like that.  I have looked throughout the Frykerud and Boda Husförhörslangd but cannot find him before 1781.  Can someone help me find out where he came from and where he was born?

Second, min ff ff mf f Matthes Matthesson (f. December 07, 1725 i Frykerud d. December 03, 1791 i Frykerud) married Lena Sånesdotter (January 07, 1730 i ????? d. September 12, 1788 i Frykerud) on June 29, 1746 (Frykerud Vigde, Pg 116 Anno).  Lena (eller Helena) appeared in Husförhörslangd Ai 5 Page 116 i Lene med Matthes and his parents.  I can't find out where Lena came from or where she was born.

Third Matthes and Lena's son Matthes Matthesson min ff ff mf (f. September 12, 1755 i Lene, Frykerud) he dissappears from Husförhörslangd and I find no death record for him.  He is the father to min ff ff m Stina Mattsdotter f. Jul 29, 1789 (Frykerud Födelse, 1789, pg 125 - Stina Jul 29 30 Foräldarar Matthes Matthsson H Marit Ersdr i W Glänne) but then he dissappears and his wife Marit Ersdotter remarries.  Can someone tell me what happened to him?

I would very much appreciate some clues as to where I should look.

Tack på förhand!

Jag är Lasses sixth cousin i Nebraska USA.  Tack så mycket for alla svar.

I read very slowly and write even slower på Svensk, so I will write in English.  I believe min farmors far was the illegitimate son (öakta barn) of Gustav Constans Westman.

We have a story in our family that min farmors farfar was a Captain Westman who died at sea.  Maybe this is Gustav Constans Westman.  Until I saw this page in the Linköping, Kyrkobok, I thought the story was not true.

Min farmors farmor Sara Charlotta Trybom f. 1822 29/10 i Hannäs was listed on the same page of the Kyrkobok that I e-mailed to Lasse.   I could read very little.  Her son (min farmors far) was Ernest Gustav (f. 1846 14/3 i Linköping, d. Feb 1937 i Brainerd, Minnesota, USA) and one dotter was Alfrida Charlotta Constantia.  I have sent for the födbok to see if their father is listed as Gustav Constans Westman.

Gustav Constans Westman was listed as Underlöjtnant.  Could this be a military rank in the navy?  This seems to suggest that the story that he died at sea could possibly be true.

Thank you again for all your help.  When I post a query on a message board in the USA, many times I get no answer.  When I post a query on Anbytarforum, I always get an answer - many times the next day.

I am considering using the Genline system instead of renting microfilms from the Family History Center (Mormons).  The price seems a little high, but the ability to have access to all the records is hard to pass up.  Can someone tell me whether the images are of good quality and whether the system works well?

Tack,

Hej Bengt,

Thank you for all the infomation.  Wow!

You were right about my name.  I have seen others with the same name that are not related, but the first use of it in my family was Olaf Andersson Fryklind f. 1785 in Frykerud.  His son Johannes Olsson Fryklind moved to Bjurtjärn and married Stina Pettersdotter there in 1845.  Her ancestors were all from Bjurtjärn, Lungsund, and Karlskoga.

My farfar, Karl Johan Fryklind, was born in 1885 in Kroppa (Östra Wermlands Jernväg near Storfors) he emigrated to Brainerd, Minnesota.  Four of his sisters came too.

I am still researching my Swedish heretige and am really fascinated with it.  I have several LDS microfilms from Bjurtjärn rented now. It sounds like I'll have to rent the court records also.  I like to verify everything myself if I can.

Thanks again for all your help.

Hej Bengt Nordstrand!

Tack for all the information in your posts!  The information you provided is very helpful.  My search has led me to Hult, Löfbacka (eller Löfbackarna) och Kyrkosten.  Englebrect Larsson (min FF FM FF FF) born about 16(54) from your post.  Also Lars Olofsson, f. 1713 and Britta Larsdotter, född 1715 are parents to my FF FM MM, Annika Larsdotter född Aug 22, 1741 in Bjurtjärn.

How do you find out information before husförhörslängd book Ai:1 and föddelse bok C:1?  You have information that goes much farther back.

What are the places that the names Hult, Löfbacka (eller Löfbackarna) och Kyrkosten refer to?  They are too small to be villages.  Were they individual houses or manors?  How would I locate them on a map?

My Swedinsh is poor, but improving.  Until it gets better I'll post in English.  I hope this is OK.  Please respond in Swedish, I need the practice.

John Roxberg (born about 1827 source 1880 US Census Nebraska) and his wife Charlotte (born about 1826 source 1880 US census) emigrated to USA between 1854 and 1873.  They emigrated with children (could include Ernest Roxberg b. 1846 (source 1880 US and 1885 Nebraska Census), Alfilda Roxberg, Hulda Roxberg, Alma Roxberg, Albert Roxberg, and Oscar Roxberg b. about 1854 source 1880 US census).  I believe Charlotte had earlier married a man named Westman who died at sea.  My Aunt said he was a sea captain.  I believe this man named Westman was the father of Ernest, Alfilda, Hulda, and Alma. They may have lived in Östergötlands.  Earnest Roxberg (maybe born as a Westman) was my great grandfather and Charlotte ????? and ????? Westman were my Great Great Grandparents.  I am trying to trace my ancestors and would appreciate any information you could provide about these.
