C.M. of K. I would like to find out to whom this refers. I am researching Peter Carlson who was born in Hjortsberga in 1822, emigrated to the US in 1854 and became a pastor in Carver County, Minnesota. In his autobiography, he refers to C.M. of K who was a strict Hofvian. I think the K refers to Kvenneberga, but who is C.M.? This would probably be sometime around 1840. Any help appreciated. Thanks Helene

Now that I have the Mantal längd numbers, how do these numbers help me find Inga Magdalena Brinck in the HFL? She was born 6 Jun 1785 in Eggvena, Älvsborg; she moved 30 Sep 1842 from Göteborgs Gustavi to Katarina. She was living in Maria Magdalena the years that she was not in Katarina. She died 9 Jan 1854 in Katarina. Are there kvarters that the inre and öster etc would refer to? Thanks for any help. I am looking for Carl Månsson and Karin Danielsdotter living at Kottsätter in 1773. I thought this place was in Nykil parish, but I cannot find it in the early HFL for Nykil. Was this farm perhaps in some other parish at that time? Thanks Helene

I am reading the genealogy of Marcus Persson and Brita Maria Nilsdotter as written 13 Oct. 2001 by Henrik Mos?n in V. V Harg sn -b1823 living in 1823 in V. Harg(?) V Harg sn -1717vt- ?? domböcker: 1705ht4379 ?? 1709st11 ?? Also at what age were children considered of age? In generation II am I correct in this? Hi Rita, The Dahlberg family also joined Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover, Illinois before they went to Kansas. According to Augustan Church records, Johanna Maria died November 13, 1854, and Emma Sofia died on November 12, 1854. Dahlbergs lived in a part of Henry County called Berlin. It was near Andover, but it no longer exists. The Lunds (or at least some of them)went to Windom, McPherson County, Kansas. They joined New Andover, Lutheran Church. Helene

Hej Marianne and Rita, Idag hittade jag Anna Sofia Gustafsdotter i Augustana Lutheran (Andover, Illinois) kyrkobok. Hon och hennes make reste till Amerika 1954, den samma år som Nils Johan Gustafsson och Dalhbergs. Båda Nils och Anna och familjen förenade med Augustana kyrka. Hennes man tar efternamn Lund. Johan Larsson Lund och Anna Sofia hade nio barn: Maria Sofia 28 Aug 1853 Vena - gifte med Peter Norell på 7 Apr 1876 i Andover Carl Johan 24 Feb 1857 Berlin, Illinois (nu kallad Swedona) flyttade till Orion, IL 1879 August Fabian 7 Jul 1859 Berlin, Illinois Victor Fremont 30 May 1862 Berlin Oskar 9 Sep 1864 Andover, Illinois Helena Mathilda 14 Oct 1867 Andover, Illinois Cedelia Annette 30 Jun 1870 Andover, Illinois Otto Nathanael 4 Feb 1873 Andover, Illinois Död 28 Jul 1873 Luther Nathanael 31 Oct 1874 Andover, Illinois Johan Lund död 14 Feb 1876 Anna Sofia flyttade till Kansas i 1884 Rita, Nelson Gustus lived in Lynn Township. That is about 25 miles south southeast of Moline. There are still a lot of Swedes that live in that area. Nelson and his family belonged to Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover at least until 1862. Be sure to stop there and also visit the Jenny Lind Chapel in Andover and the museum in the basement of the chapel. Swedona Lutheran Church is not too far away. Helene

Until the 1880s most of the Swedish Lutheran Churches in the midwest had pastors who had been born in Sweden. I was just reading the autobiography of Rev. Peter Carlsson who founded the church at East Union, MN and also a number of churches in the Pacific NW. He is my husband's great uncle and so I have researched his family. He came here in 1854, found work as a colporteur; his territory was IL, WI, IA, and MN. When he arrived in East Union, MN in late 1857, there was no organized church there, but the people had started building one. They wanted him to stay and be their pastor. Peter Carlson had tried to enter seminary when it was in Springfield, but had not been accepted. Now with the help of Eric Norelius, in January 1858 he went and got some seminary training from Erland Carlsson in Chicago. He returned in May 1858 to East Union and organized the church there and then later that year organized nearby West Union Church. He continued his ministry for many years at various churches and finally at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Helene

I am trying to find the birth parents for Magnus Pelander, born 23 Dec 1744 in Pelarne. I first find him in 1774 when his son Peter is born in Mörlunda. From the Mörlunda records I got Magnus' birthdate and place, but the birth records for those years are not available. There was a Matthias Pelander who got married in Pelarne in 1737, but he was a minister in Gärdserum so is probably not Magnus' father. There is the birth of a Pelander child in 1755 (Sara) and another one in 1757 (Kajsa) to Pehr Pelander and his wife Kjerstin Månsdotter. Is there any way I can find out if these people might be Magnus' parents? Thanks for any help. Helene

Thank you Christina for the information about Per Fredrik. Yes he did get married in Kärna. He died in Linderås in 1889. I was just wondering about the comment about Viby in 1881 since he never lived in that parish. I was just wondering if he had gone through the banns there and then did not marry the woman. That was the situation with a woman in Grebo in 1875. They had a child nine months after the banns and the child was labeled äkta. I had not seen that written right by a child's name before. On GID 245.22.62100 (Norra Solberg församling) there are remarks for no. 13 Per Fredrik Marcusson Rydvall. I think that they say that he is free to get married as stated on his inflyttning betyg. So he can get married in Viby Östergötland Mar 13 1881. I cannot find anything about a marriage for him in Viby in 1881. I was wondering if someone could check to see if there is anything in the banns for that period. Thanks Helene
