Bårckebock, Anna Maria

Hi,  
I have come across this name while tracing my Lindqvist roots.  Everyone seems to be slightly confused by it.  She was married to Bernhard Lindqvist and lived in Stora Herrestad, Skåne.  She died in Stora Herrestad 1779.  Has anyone come across this name before or know anything about it?

There is a municipality in the province Jämtland in the north of Sweden called Bräcke.
I did´nt find anything on the word Bråcke.
I don´t know if it has anything to to with the name but it may be a part of the pussel.
Bock means stud or billygoat, but maybe you knew that already.

It's actually Bårckebock but perphaps it is still something to do with the province you speak of.  I'm interested to find out where it comes from so I will look into it.  I did not know that about Bock so thank you very much.

Could it maybe refer to Barsebäck, a community on the coast near Kävlinge in Skåne?

I thought of the Barsebäck theory as well but not everybody thinks it's possible.

I don´t think the name is Bräckebock, you can judge for your self.

I have a copy of the Boupteckning register and in that document it is clearly Bårckebock.  I'm not sure of how to post it.  I will look into doing it later but it does look differently in this picture.

Perhaps it was Barkebusch from the beginning.
A search on familysearch.org renders in four hits (incl. 1 duplicate) of people living some 60 years later in Danzig, Prussia.

Barckebock is the most credible of all interpetations. I think that the cirkle above the a is simply for decoration.
There is a family named Barcke http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barck, and then the bock-ending has been added.
Thats my guess.

Perhaps I am making some progress. I have noticed that when she died she was 65. This is according to Arkiv Digital Stora Herrestad C:1 bild 294/356, sida 0304.  This would put her birth at approximately 1714. I looked up Anna Maria Barcke on ddss.nu and found Anna Maja Barck born 1712-5-29 in Ivö.  According to what I'm trying to translate it looks as if her father was a corporal in a calvary regiment and one line says Corporalens af Cavalleriet och Lif: Regementet äreborna Lorentz Barcks lilla doter.  I'm wondering if this is her and if it has anything to do with the Bock at the end.

Men in the army often took soldiers names. The traditional soldiernames was often taken from expressions of their nature lika Brave or Proud. Other popular types of names had to to with weater( Lightning, Storm etc) but also animals such as Eagle, Deer or....thats right Stud where popular to use.
So I think were on to something here! Maby he gave his name Barck, with an e, the military ending of Bock?
Just a guess.
