Bram is a part of the rigging of a sailing ship.
The english term, I believe, is top gallant.

In my opinion bram is the second part of the mast, counted from the deck. On a square-rigged ship you had one or two bramsails. It all depends how the ship was rigged. The sails under and ower the bramsails had different names depending of what kind of ship it was, which mast it was and how it was rigged.

Carl Wiebe

I am looking for imformation on Clas Didrik Wiebe,who was a pastor in Karlskrona around 1749.I believe he was head of the German congregation.He had a son Carl Peter Wiebe,who was also a pastor.Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated

1 .Claes Didrich Wiebe
 
pastor in Karlskrona Amiralitetsförsamling 1749, chairman of the consistory 1761, died 7 Aug. 1771. His widow is named Ulrika Charlotta Wiebe. Their son Carl Peter was dean in Billeberga.

2 .Carl Peter Wiebe.
 
Born 6 June 1751 in Karlskrona Amiralitetsförsamling, parents were Claes Diedrich Wiebe, pastor of the parish mentioned, and Catharina Maria Electrin.
“Studentexamen” = higher certificate, in Lund 27 Jan.1768,  certificate in Greifswald 1770 , where he got “ex.cand.ministerii” and “ex.stili in fac.philos”; vice headmaster of the German School (Tyska Skolan) in Karlskrona 1771 - 1773, worked as private tutor in Stockholm as from 1774 and resided for a while in Upsala with a pupil, got ordination as pastror in Stockholm 1781, where he worked as assisting pastor of the German Parish, moved in1789 to Norrköping, working in the Hedvig German Parish. Moved  to Lund 1793, served in the “Domkyrkoförsamlingen” ,various appointments, among others “frater Sodalitii” 1794, vicar in Billeberga and Tirup as from 22 Oct. 1799, dean of Billeberga and Tirup?s  parish 1803, appointed “pro tempore” as dean over the deanery of Rönneberg in 1823,  died in Billeberga 10 Febr. 1827.
On 10 June 1800 he married Dorotea Scholander in Billeberga, she was  born in Landskrona 4 Jan 1771 and died  in Örkelljunga 1852, she was daughter of the baker Torkil Jönsson and Maria Christina Ram.
 
Children:
 
- Carolina Wilhelmina, born in Billeberga 1 May 1801, she died in Helsingborg 14 March 1885, she got married in Landskrona 17 April 1833 to the master baker in Helsingborg, Isak Jakob Böttcher, who was born in Helsingborg 20 Dec 1794 and died same place 11 July 1866;
 
 - Fredrik, born in Billeberga 27 March 1802, staff sergeant (fanjunkare) at Skånska Husarregementet, died in Bjuv 10 Oct 1890;
 
- Adolf, born in Billeberga 22 April 1803, died in Kvistofta 19 March 1843 by suicide;
 
- Sofia, born in Billeberga 26 May 1804, married to the vicar in Båstad, Johna Gustaf Silfverstrand;.
 
- Maria Charlotta, born in Billeberga 17 Nov. 1805, married to the vicar in Örkelljunga, dean Olof Bengt Rosenblad;
 
- Theodor, born in Billeberga 24 Oct 1807;
 
- Matilda, born in Billeberga 21 June 1809, married on 23 Oct 1835 to the master baker, later on coast guard of Vikhög, Alexander Magnus Jönsson, born in Göteborg 17 April 1806 ( according to the Clerical Survey); their obituaries not found.
