In doing my research I find that every entry has the word räbock in it before my ancestor's name.  Not sure what it means.  Can you help?

Do you please give a sid-example (like GID-nr) so we can read it by ourself, or tell us directly side-number in the right parish and year.
Because there is no word räbock in Swedish.

Hi Scott,

As Elisabeth said, give us a GID or two but anyway I have a theory.

Råbock is a soldiername, on some places you where given the soldiername when you lived at a specific soldier cottage. You kept the name during your stay at that cottage. Very effictive for the military administration, then they always new where to find Soldier Råbock.

I do find the family in GID 2166.35.15600, but I can't find where the father and mother came from.

Scott!
I myself is not fully convinced about the soldiers name theory. If you look at the birth records for Anders' children there is no title soldier, just Råbock in front of Anders' name. And many other fathers have a prefix referring to their location.
Thus Råbock, even if a bit odd and suggest a soldiers' name, it should be the name of the place, just like Tyrus at GID 2166.35.15900. There is also Fisk = Fish and others. And if soldier's name aren't there too many of them!?

This looks similar to the nameing custom in Dalarna.
However this is just a thought from a not very experienced genealogist.

Scott. Just to put you on the right track.

Anders' mother, Sara Jonsdotter, born 1710, is listed with the family.

Anders Olsson in Byggn. marries Sara Jönsdotter in Rexbo Dec. 29, 1734, according to the marriage record (F:1).

In Rexbo, you find Sara with her parents. Indeed, she was born in 1710. (AI:2 p. 23)

Anders Olsson, b. 1703, with his parents and wife Sara can be found in Byggningen (AI:2 p. 122) Their childrenb are at the bottom of the page, among them Anders, b. 1743. Anders Olsson is said to be a soldier.

Anders Andersson in Byggn. marries Margita Andersdotter from Walsarfvet, April 8, 1765. (F:1)

Margita Andersdotter, b. 1743 with her parents are on page 186 of AI:5A (GID 2166.33.88800).

One little advise: Questions of this nature are more efficiently placed under their proper parish, i. e. Landskap> Dalarna> Socknar> Ål. People who know the region well will more likely find your question under that heading.

Per Thorsell.

Well,

With a GID to look at it seems clear that its the name of places
Busmor No:1 - Björk
Busmor No:2 - Skrifvar
Busmor No:3 - Råbock

But on the other hand there is this record 2166.32.77200 they live at Anderss mother.

And they came from this place 2166.32.68600, note Råbock

In the mantalslängd he is mentioned as Råbock Anders Andersson under Byggningen.
And you can read a complete story about his father at 2166.5.62900.

Disregard the last reference, 2166.5.62900, that a different story.
