Uneo, Sweden - where is this?

I would like to find where Uneo is in Sweden. A relative, Lydia Efresin Sjostrom, was born there on 8 Nov 1873. She emigrated to the U.S. when she was 19, and she got married in Minnesota on 24 Jan 1893, so she would have left Sweden possibly sometime in late 1892 or early 1893. Tack for your help!

Try with Umeå. The name Sjöström which is a common name in Umeå makes it a pretty good guess too.

Maybe it?s Umeå you mean. That?s a parish in Västerbotten, rather high up in Sweden. It?s by the sea called Bottniska viken.

I made a search at the sensus from 1890 at  http://www.foark.umu.se and found a Lydia Eufrosyne born 1873 at http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/y/person.asp?lannr=22&forsnr=12&pnr=10797 she is born in Umeå and her fathers name is Erik Sjöström born 1852. He is working at Kubikenborg Ångsåg (steamsaw mill)

Tack så mycket! This is the Lydia Sjöström I was looking for. I am glad to have the information about her family and parents, and the correct spelling for the town of Umeå. Is there a way to find out when she left Sweden, and from what port? I really appreciate all your help!

There's a CD called Emigranten that lists the people that left Sweden. I don't have it but you can try to make a request here in Anytarforum. In the Emigrants sektion theres alot of Emigranten CD lookup requests.
