Hi ,

All I have is :

Father: Carl Lindström   - Born November 1834 Sweden
Mother : Marie C. Lindström  -   Born  1839  Sweden
Son:  Swan P Lindström    - Born October 28, 1867  Sweden
Son:  Victor J Lindström  - Born November 23 1872 Sweden
Daughter Maria Lindström  - Born  1874 Sweden

They came to the Jamestown NY area in 1890 or 1891 according to the US Census.
I have been contacting relatives to see if anyone has any record of the area in Sweden they might be from but I am getting nowhere.
I found the above record and was hoping that IF it was my Carl it would give me a clue as to where to look. It doesn't look like it is him though :{
I'll keep hoping for a miracle and calling relatives I guess !

The family is shown in the clerical survey of Kalmar stadsförsamling AI:103, (1879-1890) pg 155,  GID 75.194.53900.
Surveys for this part of Kalmar, i.e. the shipyard and Ängö, seem not to be online via Genline later than 1890.

Hi Bo ,

I am so sorry I wasted your time in trying to help me. I really thought that ship record must have been for my Carl but I guess it can't be.
I really do appreciate any help and again I am sorry !

You are welcome. If your family came from northern Sweden they might have gone via Trondheim, Norway. Emigration records are free to sehttp://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebFront.exe?slag=vis&tekst=meldingar&spraa k=e

I can't find them in the Swedish emigration records, despite your detailed information.

I wonder if Charles J Lindstrom, born May 1861 in Sweden, is a relative. He and his family is living next door to Carl and Marie in census 1900.

Dalsebo, Vena

All in the family went to US in 1891
first Sven Peter och Karl Johan Oscar together with Maria Sofias husband Karl Emil Johansson b 1867 Sept 23 at Hannäs, Kalmar county, they was given the exitpermit in 17 febr 1891. In 19th of may Maria Charlotta Göransdotter and Maria Sofia with her child Karl Ernst b 1890 oct 8 at Karlstorp, Jönköping county and Göran Viktor went. At last Karl Peter Persson went in 20th november. But he perhaps left together with the others without exitpermit. It happends very often.

I am very interested in ihe emigrants born i Kristdala. I even did some investegations in Andover, Illinois in 1983. around 400 from 1200 emigrant from Kristdala went to the very little town of Andover in western Illinois. So please give me more information on this family from the US.

Hi Bo Björn & Mats ,

Oh my gosh ! You may have actually found them for me !! What a lot of work you did !
So the entire family came here then ? I did not even know about Karl Johan Oscar !
We still have relatives close by from the Lindstrom family but nobody seemed to know anything and if they had the old records they didn't seem much interested in helping me. I was waiting for one last member to call me and here all of you have gone out of your way to help me ! That is so amazing ! So many of the Swedish families came to Jamestown Ny that it is almost impossible not to be part Swedish around here and to be able to trace all the branches of the families just is unreal ! I am speechless with the kindness here and more Thankful then you can know :}

I'm going to look at what records I can see from your information and try to get more of a feel for them as well.

Thank you all so much again !!

Lori

Hello Lori

Doctor Carl Ringblom was a surgeon in Swedish Army in the early 1800´s
before he became a doctor in the small town of Vimmerby,
Carl was born in Stockholm 1776 and married Catharina Westberg
in Harnosand, northern Seden, in 1801, they got one son,
However, he left his wife and got later on 9 children with
two other women, including Ingrid Lena Wimmerstedt,

tell me if you want more information on the Ringblom family,

I'm back again lol
I have a record I am trying to read again. It  is a Birth record and I can read the father but not the mother's name. Also does it tell where in Snöstorp I can find them ?
