Gotland Churches

I am planning my second trip to Gotland, last time we stayed just in Visby. This time we would like to rent a car and visit all the parishes that my ancestors attended. They are Väskinde, Atlingbo, Barlingbo, Eskelhem, Stenkumla, Endre, Roma and Sproge. How long would it take to visit them all, could we drive to them all in one day? They all seem to be close to each other except for Sproge. We will be staying in Visby.

I would have thought that you could squeese them all in in one day, but Gotland is such a beautiful island, it would be a shame to rush through it all in only one day. I suggest you allow at least two days and take a bit more time in each place.

Thank you for the information, you are right Gotland is a beautiful island and a very interesting one. I will take your advice and plan on 2 days for our tour.

Mary! Make sure the churches are open to  
visitors  
on the days you are there to avoid  
disappointment.

May I ask why You want to see these churches?
I grew up in Väskinde and some of my relatives came from the parishes You are intersted in.  
My relatives were Grevberg and Norrby.

Torsten,
I want to see the churches to see where my ancestors lived. My Great grandfather was born in Väskinde parish, Mårten Peter Larsson, and also his parents. I've been trying to find out some more info about his parents and grandparents, but haven't had much luck. I've found pictures of most of my ancestors parishes, and they look lovely. Guess I just want to travel back in time a bit.
