this is the address where my grandfather was born in 1873. Does anyone know if it still exists?

The name of this street i to-day Döbelnsgatan. The change was decided in 1885 in honor of Georg Carl von Döbeln (1758-1820). This information is published in the book Stockholms gatunamn - The Street names of Stockholm. As a matter of fact I live just two block from Döbelnsgatan.

Maybe you are best off asking at Stadsarkivet (the City Archive) http://www.ssa.stockholm.se/ - this page seems to be only in Swedish, but if you click at Adresser och telefonnummer you will find telephone numbers that you could try. They might be able to tell you the exact location of the address you are looking for, and what number in Döbelnsgatan this would be today.

Another possibility is the Stockholm City Museum, which has a very large collection of old photos from all parts of the city. You can contact them at faktarummet@smf.stockholm.se

Elisabeth, Thank you so much for your suggestion. I did just that, and today I received a 4X6 black and white drawing (copy) of the street showing a group of homes and what looks like a business. I was told that the address where my grandfather was born was in one of these buildings. They were all demolished and rebuilt in the late 1890's.
