SwedGenTour 2005

Hej!
 
The SwedGenTour 2005 has started. The group of ten Swedish genealogists are sitting on an airplane just passing the Southern Greenland. We are going to visit Salt Lake City Sep 5-6, 8-10, Seattle Sept 11-12 and Vancouver Sept 14-15. We hope that we will meet many American fellow genealogists.
 
We are going to have workshops where we are going to  show all new amazing Swedish databases. We are going to try to solve as many research problems as possible.
 
The participants are the Federation of Swedish Genealogical Societies, Computer Genealogy Society of Sweden, SVAR - Swedish Archives Information and Genline North America.

Good news and bad news!
 
This is a summary after the first workshop-day in Salt Lake City. The good news is that we have had many visitors to the lectures as well as to the workshop. Another good news is that we have been able to solve many research problems. During the presentation of the Emibas CD, a loud “wow” was heard from the audience. At both the lectures and the workshop several '”yippies” were heard.
 
The bad news is that we have had almost no questions to publish on Anbytarforum, since all the good databases and the skilled SwedGenTour-group have managed to find the solutions. Some answers being researched for 15 years.

Welcome to the FGS Conference in Salt Lake City
 
In few minutes, the free exhibition at Salt Palace will open. We are just about to do the final preparations. Today, the show will go on until 4.30 am CET.  
 
We are very grateful for the answers on previous queries on the Anbytarforum. The Swedish-Americans are very impressed by the quick answers to their research queries.  
 
We hope that we will have time to publish some new queries which may arise during the session today.

Alldeles strax öppnar utställning på släktforskarkonferensen i Salt Lake City. Det var kul att vi så snabbt fick svar på ett par av våra förfrågningar. Konferensen är öppen till kl 04.30 och ni är välkomna att svara på ev frågor, även om ni skriver på svenska.

Today and tomorrow, the SwedGenTour will visit Scandinavian Community Center, Burnaby. The meeting is arranged by British Columbia Genealogical Society.  
 
The sessions will be held 1 pm-10 pm locale time, which corresponds to kl 22.00-08.00 Swedish time.

C'est un question des langues au Kanada, n'est pa - francais et anglais?  Since I am responding on the English site of Anbytarforum I am interested in the inquiries you are receiving.  There is also a website known as swedestoo@yahoo.com that has shown activity regarding your visits to Salt Lake, Seattle, and Vancouver.

I can understand why Olof wrote partly in French, since Canada is partly French-speaking and SwedGenTour is in Canada now, but please, try to keep the discussions under this thread in English.
