Marie Rose

I am looking for any information about Anna Maria Amalia Sundqvist b.1889-02-07 , Hildur Kristina Sundqvist b.1890-06-25 , and Astrid Maria Sundqvist b. 1892-10-24, all born at Sundsvall, Västernorrland, Sweden.Their parents are Nils Gust. Sundqvist and Maja Stina Brink. They are half-sisters of my Grandfather, John Brinque. He died in Chicago, Illinois USA in 1933.My Mom,his daughter, was adopted after her Mother died in 1926, so she knows little of her family on either side. Am hoping to find someone that can give us some information or maybe even pictures. Would love to see what he looked like! Thank you for any help you can give. Marie

I found the family in the 1890 census, at http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/y/person.asp?lannr=22&forsnr=73&pnr=8496&selarkbild=Sundsvall

If someone hasn't responded tonight, I can check both the CD that contains deaths from 1950-1999 and the CD that shows where they lived at 1970, if the were still alive.

Eva, I don't have any more new data. Thought I would post a query one more time and see if I could obtain more information. If not, I'll try contacting the regional archives to see what I can find out that way. Seems like this family just vanished!Thank you Eva and Thomas for your help.Marie

Marie, of course there is always the chance that new researchers come online that know of your family (but there is a search function) - and sometimes also new resources. But often only new helping hands come along and do look-ups that you have already received.

The family didn't vanish, they just aren't in any sources available for most researchers, but I'll bet that they still are in the church books for the parish  - which then gives their moves/marriages/deaths/ or possible emigration.

There will be a new version of the cd Sveriges dödbok (the one with deaths 1950-1999) sometime next year (later half I guess) which will have names for many that died in the period 1950-1970. But do you want to wait for that when you could write to the archives or the local genealogical society (addresses found in the thread I link to above)?

There is also a subscription database online for the census 1900 (which in Sweden are extracts of the church books that are at the Regional Archives) at www.arkion.se but you already have some data for after 1890. 1910/1920/1930 are not online. The 1890 census is free for the part of Sweden you are interested in, address as given above. I don't have the subscription database.

Regards,
Eva

Marie Rose,
I have checked the census 1900 and nobody in this family lives in Sundsvall (or in Västernorrland).
In 1890 the family is in Sundsvall.
Maja Stina Brink, b 1859 in Bjuråker, Gävleborgs län.
Nils Gust. Sundqvist (police man), b 1863 in Sundsvall. Kids:
Johan Alfred b. 1881
Anna Maria Amalia b. 1889
Hildur Kristina b. 1890

They left Sundsvall and Västernorrland 1890-1900.
Sorry!
/Robert

Many parishes in Västernorrland county are still missing in 1900 census in the Arkion database. Sundsvall is one of hem. So the family may still have lived there.
Hälsar vänligen
Maud
