Carole: Hi. I am aware of a site where you can request a short single name CD Emigranten look up. The site is: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pines/5300
The look ups are voluntarily done by Cathy Maak and Ingrid Clenman whom I understand actually own the CD.  There are instructions on the site to follow for submitting your request. I received a very prompt response(one day)-so I suggest you might give that a try.

Good luck!
Donna

Hej!

I have a cousin who immigrated to Amerika.  Could someone see if they can find him?

Peter Adam Gustafsson, född 1883 Oct 23 i Bästerås, Stenbrohult.  He supposedly immigrated i 1910 from Kronoberg.  He had three children and his wife died after giving birth to the last child and he left never to be heard from again.

Thank you for any help (the site mentioned above did not work for me).

Stephanie

I?m searching for Eric Hilmer Soderling from Amotsfors, Sweden ( born in Jernskog,Varmland 1902-02-05 ), who travelled with SS Oscar II 1923-06-20 from Kristiania (Oslo) Norway to New York where he arrived 1923-07-03. This is veryfied in the American Family Immigration History Center. When he arrived at New York, he told that his final destination in the USA was Waukeagan, Illinois. I have been told, that he was married in Virginia later on ( 1925--1928 ? ). Can you tell me more about this man I would be very glad.

Karin. Anita. Holm. Björkholm. (Karin)

Tjugoettårige Erik H Söderling var musiker , hans pappa hette Lars Söderling och bodde i Åmotsfors.
Detta finner du också i SS Oscar 11 så kallade original ship manifest

Hi Christer! There is a special section for lookups in Swedish further down ;-) To look someone up in the Cd for 1864 is difficult as it mostly starts in 1869 ...

There are however >1500 emigrants from 1864 on the cd, no Niklas, most of them leaving via Hamburg.

There are several pages of information on how to search for your emigrant on Rötter. Look at the Länkar page, and you might find the possibility to do online lookups for Illinois marriages (if it wasn't Virginia after all). Use www.usgenweb.org to lookup the information you already have (for example if someone in Waukegan can do a check for you). His name is odd enough anyway, maybe a search on www.rootweb.com may result in something from SSDI.

The other one - check him out in the 1880 census which I informed about today under Länktips at the bottom of the page. I have had some luck, but not much. Look for bouppteckningar for parents and unmarried/childless siblings.

Med vänliga hälsningar,
Eva Dahlberg

Thank you Eva ! I?ll try to follow your advices.I have alredy - before searching Niklas this way - thought about that he could have left via Germany. I  have therefore allready checked up at Immigrant Ships Transcribers List ( http://istg. rootsweb.com ) without any luck.I also wrote to a church in Waukeagan, Illinois for help without success ( = no answer ).
