Caroline Boston

Hello

Are the 1870 and 1880 Overlulea censuses available online at all? If so, would someone kindly advise the website addresses?

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Best wishes
Caroline

Caroline,

They seem to be available on the fee-based Arkion site. We can't check without details, though.

sorry, noted the link isn't working, this one is better: Anbytarforum: Släkter: Övriga släkter A-B: Broström

but as mentioned elsewhere, the church books are more reliable than the census - and available at the Family History Centres worldwide.

Eva

Hi Judy & Eva

Thanks for your information.
I was looking for 1870 or 1880 data on:

JOHAN ANDERSSON
Birth:  11 OCT 1830
Marriage:  26 OCT 1851  Overlulea, Norrbotten, Sweden    Wife : LISA CAJSA BROSTROM

and

Lisa Caisa Brostrom
Birth:  28 SEP 1821   Brobyn, Nederlulea, Norrbotten, Sweden
Father:  Anders JOHANSSON Brostrom
Mother:  Greta Catarina OR Caisa LARSDOTTER Norstrom

If I could just get a lead on their children's names, I can do the 1890 look-up myself. Right now, I have NO children listed for them.

I was trying to look in 1890 for Andersson children, but maybe I should be looking for Johansson children.

(Anyway, I don't get out to the Family History Centres at all, as I'm disabled. That's why I'm being such a pain on here! Sorry about that.)

Thanks again.  :-)
Regards
Caroline

Hi Gunvor

Many thanks for the information, and for taking the time to do the look-up for me.

I'm getting along fairly well with the 1890 Census, except for situations where the Broström wife is widowed, and it doesn't show the childrens last name. I found a marriage of a Johan Eric Nordstrom to Greta Magdalena Broström, and then went to IGI looking for Nordstrom children, but found them under Jonsson.

I guess the children of Johann Andersson above may be listed as Johansson and Johansdotter on IGI. Anyway, thanks again...I shall now go look for them in 1890.

Best wishes
Caroline

I am trying to trace my Grandfather.   Frederick Martin Jouvenat.   On 1901 UK cencus he is down as being born in Switzerland which is then crossed out and Stockholm, Sweden put in but with FS next to it which I believe means French Subject.   Also on my Father's marriage cert there is no Grandfather's name so I believe Frederick Martin Jouvenat may have been illegitimate.   He was born 1869 or 1870 possibly December.    Any info on him or his parents would be gratefully received.
