Sven Svensson 1838-1905

Sven Svensson was born on May 15, 1838 in Sweden. Birthplace is unknown. Fathers name was Sven. Mothers name was Maria. Surnames are unknown. He emmigrated to America in 1869 and subsequently setteled in Becker county in Minnesota. Between 1869 and 1876 , he married  Eline Olsen from Norway. Can anyone provide a birthplace for this man?

Sven Svensson in 1969---search in CD-emigration get 55 answer, and 11 possible arround 28-32 year old.
Some of them has only written Sweden as birthplace.
Most of them came from Östergötland or Småland in Sweden.
It is not so easy to find YOUR Sven Svensson.

Are you from Minnesota? Becker County has a good Geneaology & Historical Society. On the Becker County GenWeb  ( http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnbecker/ )  
site I found Swen Swensen Land Patent
   ( http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnbecker/land-s.htm#names ) and I looked for his burial. Not listed, checked Swan etc. You might make a request for a look-up in church records or an obituary. I have had great success in my own research as these sources many times list where they were born. There is also a message board.

Thank you James.  I've had much discussion with the Heart'O'Lakes Genealogy Society as wll as Becker county records. Lots of info on Sven while he lived in America, but nothing on his Swedish birthplace or ancestors. I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada.   Florian

EMIBAS - a new source coming soon on cd might help. There you can search by date of birth and hopefully get a match, it's registered from the moving out record of the parishes.  
 
But the first version coming in late August this year isn't complete, so he might still not be registered. Swedish-American church books are also registered, but only available at the House of Emigrants. Those records often state parish of birth, but only ca 25-30 % of the emigrants joined one of these churches.
