Hello,
Does anyone know what happened to the family of Lars Magnus Spaak (born Sep 23, 1817 in Djursdala parish, Kalmar county)?
His wife was Anna Stina Dyk (born Feb 4, 1818, also in Djursdala). They married on Dec 27, 1838 and when they emigrated they had the following children:
Lars Joakim, b Mar 20, 1839
Nils Fabian, b Nov 28, 1840
Anders Magnus Alfred, b Aug 21, 1842
Stina Karin, b Aug 27, 1844
August Vilhelm, b Jun 4, 1846
Alexander, b Apr 30, 1849

The children were all born in Djursdala. This family emigrated in the year of 1849. I don't have the exact date of departure.
Where in America did they wind up? Were there any children born in America to Lars Magnus and Anna Stina?

Regards,
Sofia

Hi Sofia,

I don't have time at this moment to type the information but they are listed in Swedish Passenger Arrivals in the United States 1820-1850, by Nils William Olsson and Erik Wik?n. They are listed on pages 357-358. In short, they emigrated to Chicago and joined the St. Ansgarius Episcopal Church. Two kids (Nils Fabian and Alexander died there.) The family then moved to Princeton, Illinois. (They must have attended Princeton Lutheran Church, since the information comes from those archives.)

If someone else doesn't type this, I'll try to find time tonight or tomorrow.
