Hi.......
In my research I have found variations of spellings for my ancestor and that is....Langqvist,Landqvist and Lundqvist.
This person is my 4th great material grandfather.
The three resources I've used are Genline, the Military Archives and Nättidningen Rötter (Barnhus-Sök). Which hasn't given me much to be able to find more on this person. The information I do have is limited so I'm hopeing someone here might be able to help me to obtain more. Per military Archives:
He is Lars LANGQVIST, born i Östergötland.
No birth date or parish of birth given.
13/May/1782 he was a soldier, called Livgardet till fot No63 of the Company of Carl Gustaf Liewen. Discharged 6/Feb/1788. 1786 he was 22 years old and the regiment was located in Stockholm. In Genline I located him in the parish Södra Bataljonsförsamlingen for years starting 1780-1788. Lars married the widow Anna (Olofsdr)Sundström on 22/May/1785. Anna died 26/Apr/1787, age 36. They had a son Lars Hindric born 17/Jan/1786. Lars Hindric was placed in an orphanage in Stockholm in 1787 after Anna died and released 1795 to foster care in Arbrå,X. He lived there till his death in 1842. I found a file on Lars Hindric LANQVIST in RÖTTER (Barnhus-Sök)which gives the years he was there. Also by 1794 he is now both fader och moderlös.
I have tried to find Lars father's death record or any other records on him with no luck. Unfortunately Södra Bataljonsförsamlingen parish does not state moving in or moving out, therefore I am at a lost how to find additional information on him. Anyone have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. So if this looks familiar please contact me. And thank you!
