Ehn, Axel emigrated to USA around 1900 & returned to Sweden approx. 1920
 
 Hi, I am looking for information from Swedish census for Axel Ehn & family.
Axel  (born approx 1882) was married to a Peterson (not sure of first name).  
Axel emmigrated to USA around 1900 (not sure if he went with wife or met her in USA)
While in the USA the couple had two daughters, Katherine Elizabeth (born 1912) and Ruth.
The family stayed in the USA  (until approx 1918) and then returned to Sweden to live (I think somewhere near Gothenburg)
When Katherine Elizabeth was approx 18 (around 1930) she returned to the USA on her own & lived there for the remainder  of her life- living near Boston until her death in 2003. The remainder of the family stayed in Sweden including Ruth who had 1 son named Lennert Vindahl who lives in Sweden to this day (outside of Gothenburg). Any information that could be found from the Census would be most appreciated. Thank you!

First to say that two brothers, both joiners, one being Axel Oskar Ehn, arrived in New York May 1900 according to the Ellis Island site.  They were named as being from Tidaholm, part of Baltak parish before 1895.  Following this lead,  Axel Oskar is found on Släktdata as being born in Daretorp south east of present day Tidaholm 1881-05-13 father Soldat Johan August Ehn, mother Anna Charlotta  Karlsdotter, address Paradis, Daretorp.  The parents are alone in Daretorp according to the 1880 census, the father born Daretorp (Skaraborgs län, Västergötland) in 1855, the mother in Härja (Skaraborgs län, Västergötland) in 1854.  In 1990 they are there with children Axel Oskar 1881, Johan Hjalmar 1884,  Hulda Serafia 1886 and Hilda Maria 1890.  They are listed as at Paridis soldatboställe (Paradis soldiers dwelling).

Having now seen the posting above mine, sent while I was creating mine....  Two points, Ehn is an unusual name so there were not many by that name, a very good point when researching Sweden.  But then only to add that the emigration date (1900) and date of birth (1881) I found looked a bit closer to yours.  However, the Axel Oskar I found did not die in Sweden, and the wife Mats found looks a match.  Just as a hint, if you have any information on occupation and can clarify which was the most likely emigration date, you can make an informed choice.

According to a moving in book from Kloster Parish in Södermanland comes Axel and his family to Sweden 1924, and the birthdate for the second daughter, here called Margaret is September 16 1913

Do you have any tips for searching for Obituaries in Sweden- hers would have been 2009.
