On the 12 of June 1869 the following family emigrated from the cottage Sjöholm, Södra Vi parish to North America: Carl Johan Svensson b. 1819-02-11 in Karsnäs, Södra Vi; his wife Christina Charlotta Bergholm b.1823-01-25 in Gustafsholm, Södra Vi and five of their children:
Fredrika Lovisa Carlsdotter b.1843-08-21 in Karsnäs, Södra Vi, Christina Charlotta Carlsdotter b.1850-07-18 in Karsnäs, Södra Vi, Constans Malachias Carlsson b.1853-02-08 in Skillingarum, Vimmerby lfg, Matilda Charlotta Carlsdotter b.1855-11-18 in Karsnäs, Södra Vi and Augusta Sofia Carlsdotter b.1865-06-30 in Sjöholm, Södra Vi parish.
They had two other children (Karolina Lindström and Samuel August Söderholm) who stayed in Sweden for the rest of their lives. Those children lived at Ösjöfors hand paper mill in Rumskulla parish.
Since I haven?t been able to find these emigrants on the CD Emigranten Populär nor been able to identify them in any American census, I would love getting to know where they lived in North America. Carl Johan Svensson was related to professor Arnold Barton\s ancestors in Illinois, so maybe that is where they arrived, but I haven?t been able to trace them there.
