Martin Sjunnesson changed name to Benson born around 1882 in Norra Vram (Bjuv parish) last known thing about him, is that he lived in Everton Illinois US 1901.

His brother Emil Sjunnesson changed name to Stevens or Stewens he was born also in Norra Vram as his brother oved first to Everton later became a post official employee in Seattle in the state of Washington US married with Elisabeth (maiden name unknown) Stevens från Munka Ljungby in Skåne. he and his wife came from England (Liverpool) with the emigration ship Cymric to New York 27´s of august 1901 and directly moved to his brother above in Evereton Illinois.

They had three children:

Emil Robert Sigfrid Stevens (Stewens?) born 15/2 1903 in Everton, Illinois U.S. like his following two sibblings:

Mary Elisabeth Stevens (Stewens?) born 31/8 1906 (0r 1908?) as above and

George Emil Stevens (stewens) born 23/8 1910

I think the two brothers (sons of Emil and Elisabeth above) were unmarried and died in the 1980´and/or 1990´s but what with the sister and with their uncle (above):

Martin (Sjunneson) Benson did anyone of the have descendents?

Emil Stevens and Martin Benson were my maternal grandmother´s brothers.

Hello again:

After searching the webb half the night and the above mentioned names. I found out that Evanstonis rather the right name of this town (or city). I had never heard of this place before, like I didn´t know Chicago was the head (capital) of Illinois. Well now it is just planted here for a possible answer in the future...

Best regards: Steve

Evanston is a suburb north of Chicago, right next to the city and near (or perhaps next to) Lake Michigan.

Chicago is the largest city in Illinois but the capital of Illinois is Springfield.

I have never heard of an Everton, Illinois. I looked in the online 1895 U.S. Atlas and it was not listed.

You can see the location of Evanston on this 1895 map from the same site.

The last girl here is my grandmother Elisabeth Sjunesson (1888-1966)

I mentioned where Both Emil and Martin should have lived and where Emil´s children should have been born.

What happened to Martin (the brother) wno should have taken the name Benson I have no idea?

Emil Sigfrid Stevens or Stewens (born Sjunnesson) is that he and his wife should have moved to Seattle in the state of Washington and worked as a postoffice clerk.

One of his sons should have died in 1980´s (or begining ot he 1990´s) My cousin in New York was investigating this and found him in a parish in this city and she sent her son there who is a professor in a univerity (is that Colubia University?) in Seattle to visit him but then he had died...the only thing she could tell me was that he had not been married and had no children and she was not sure about the other son (mentioned above) had any family... Now i am talking about emil Sigfrid Stevens7sjunessons children!

This became quite complicated...he he. especialy those names you had put into the text. Why were they mentioned? Let me see now if this is understandable?

Sincerely yours: Steve

The other people (without the specific details) were other members of the household, such as who the boys worked for or worked with.

Stevens and Stewens won't sound at all the same in English, and I've never, ever, heard of a name Stewens. Perhaps they used a different spelling of Stevens, which would be Stephens, but I doubt they used Stewens.

I looked for these people on the Social Security Death Index and didn't find them, unless G. Stevens is yours. The birthdate fits but he is in a Oregon. Oregon is another state in the western U.S.

The site generates this letter to send for the application, which will have much more detail, but the cost of $27 (especially after you convert SEK to U.S. dollars, will be a lot considering we don't know who G was.

Hello again Judy!
I do agree about Stewens, I have never heard about such a spelling before, but it is not me who made it up.... It was written down so, as an alternative side by side with Stevens....and I do not know why?

Nothing of the above is my facts It is of course things I have found in written documents! I only knew the (first) christian names of my grandmother Elisabeth and her four sibblings; Emil, Klara, Martin and Ester. Which I remember from my childhood.
And her parents name which I got some years ago, and the other names (I wrote above) I found here at anbytarforum earlier. But now some of them are confirmed of course, thanks to your work!
It is great, thank you Judy.

Good that you gave me the other names aswell thsoe who had worked with the boys or how it functioned...

I think I wait with sending that form...it is quite expensive, especially as you said, not knowing if that is the right person!. I use ancestry sometimes etc. It may pop up more infos here or during searching the web...?!

Thanks alot Judy!!!

Thank You so much Carl and again my thanks to Judy, for this great helpfullnes to find out what became of my grandmothers brothers and some of their descendents.

From a private mail I got this aswell from a great helper This is a death record for Emil S. Stevens with a mother of the name Elise Sjunnesson.  Emil died September 17, 1957 in Seattle, King County, Washington State.  and the following site she sent me, which I will use:

http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/ViewRecord.aspx?RID=C433144387A57D61382E1546F1 52948D

So now I got more about Emil Sigfrid 8the senior) and he had lived at least through the first world war with his wife Elisabeth together at the same addres. George the youngest son died as above and had a wife called Alice. Very interesting they could have had children and even descendents then!(?)

Clackamas must be in the state of Oregon?

Now I will write this in front of me so I can get everything puzzled together..I am deeply thanksfull and it is exciting...

Myr best regards: Steve

And now the daughter of Emil sigfrid (senior) and his wife Mary Elisabeth slso called Mary Elisabeth Stevens born 31/8 1906 (0r 1908?). I couldn´t read if it was 6 or 8(...)

and Emil Sigfrids brother:

Martin Sjunnesson who changed name to Benson, born around 1882 in Norra Vram (Bjuv parish) last known thing about him SS I WROTE ABOVE, is that he lived in Evanston Illinois US 1901. But I also found another thing; that he maybe didn´t arrived to the U.S. before 1902.(?).

I have now an even greater respect for You who even found my relatives above...I have, since I got the first notes from You Judy and later Carl, searched the above mentioned sites and archives and others I found along the way. Thousunds of similar names to the above mentioned persons mostly in Evanstone/Chicago/Illinois area or Seattle/the state of Washington (but one never know if they moved somewhere else...). Well I did find the same names with the same data as mentioned above, but I cannot find any kind of cennections between them further on. I mean is  there no children/descendents of them or if so any possible posssibility to say no or yes there may be?! Nor so with Emil Sigfrid´s (junior) uncle Martin Benson (born Sjunnesson), or the sister of him (if she survived the first years?) and of course I searched for Sjunnesson as well...same results. No possible connections...
How Judy and Karl (who have been so kind and helpfull already!) and others who tried it before, could one find them?
I have searched in Europe and Germany before but that research had other problems (mostly destroyed archives..nothing to do or wait for reconstructions...)but if one could find them one could often trace other relatives easier, but here every person seems not connected to anyone else (except in U.S archives; to cases a mother and a wife is mentioned...)

Sincerely yours: Steve
