I am trying to do a family tree as a wedding present for my daughter.  Running out of time.
I need to find information on two people.  I would like to confirm their birth year and get their parents names and birth and death years.
 
The two people are:
 
Mathilda Gerda Borjeson  Birth:  1872  Emigration Log for July 18991 shows her place of origin as: Grimstad Vastra Gotaland Lan
 
Johan Arvid Edlund  Birth abt 1867  Emigration log for May 1889 shows his palce of origin as: Husby Dalarna Lan.  I did find another document in the US that showed his DOB as 1869 but I think that is a typo.
 
Any leads or suggested search places would be greatly appreciated.

Grinstad is a parish in the former Älvsborg county (now part of Västra Götaland county) and records were kept in the parish. (I don't know of a Grimstad.)

Do you have more information from the US about them? Where they lived, were these two a married couple later? It would be easier to confirm their identities if we had more data, there are several people with these names.
 
As you indicate, there are actually two Johan A Edlund in the passenger lists for NY, one born 1867, arriving 1889, one born about 1869 arriving 1892.
 
The Matilda Börjesson leaving in 1891, from Grinstad, is actually named Matilda Rosalia Börjesson, born 14 March 1872, daughter of lighthouse master Johannes Börjesson, according to the household census.
