Hello, I am trying to locate birth records for my 2nd great grandparents Magnus Peterson & Anna Holmgren. What I have for information is this, Magnus Peterson born 10 Aug. 1870 in Christiania,Sweden. Anna Holmgren born 11 Dec. 1870 in Boske,Grive,Kristianstad,Sweden. I do not know positively thats where they were born at for sure, but thats what family records show. They Immigrated to the U.S.A and were married there and had their 13 children in the U.S.A. It is believed that Magnus Immigrated into the U.S. sometime in 1886.Magnus' parents names were Pettre Johnson & Catarina Nilsdotter or so family records show. Magnus had 7 other siblings.Anna Immigrated to the U.S. with her parents Hans Peter Holmgren & Johanna Jonsdotter Lundvall in May 1879. I would greatly appreciate anyone who could find some information on records of my family.

The Holmgren's are familiar to me, I'm not related, however, but have rather much on them - because they came to Aliceton, ND, where my wife also had relatives. I will revert soon. I have a book about the familieis from Skåne province, who settled in Aliceton.

Married 3 Dec. 1859 in Ausås.

s. Anders, b. 4 Oct. 1867 in Herninge, Ausås parish.

The family moved 1879 to Åsorp in Björnekulla parish,  Kristianstad county.
Magnus left Björnekulla for the U.S.A. 29 April 1886, followed by his brother Jakob four years later, 18 April 1890.

Thank you both Stefan & Bo for all your help. I really appreciate the help from you both. As for the book of Aliceton, Bo, I did not get a response back to you in time to let you know that I own that same book, and only live a few miles away from Aliceton,ND. But thank you very much for the e mail with the images of the book. It is a good book, but there are quite a few mistakes in it on birth places and some dates, so I am trying to double check the information thats in the book, Thanks to Stefan he has corrected quite a bit of it for me, and added new information I did not have. The dates and places in the Skannings book are not complete, as this 2nd book was written in 1981. I had borrowed the first edition of the book from another relative of mine too which was written in the 60's. I am hoping to get all the corrections made on the dates and places of the family, so they are all accurate. Thank you both again for all your help!

I have just been going through some family records, and have discovered that there was another sibling to Magnus Peterson. His name was Per Peterson, he would be a half brother to Magnus and his other siblings. It was said that his father Peter Jonsson ( born 27 Nov 1833 in Herninge,Ausas Parish,Kristianstad,Sweden) had him with an unknown woman before he was married to Katrina Nilsdotter (born 13 Dec. 1833 in Rya Parish,Kristianstad,Sweden). All that the record states is that Per was born in 1859 near Angleholm,Sweden. Per married Gustava Henriksdotter sometime in Sweden, and they had 5 children together: Paul(born 10 Jan 1884),Agda Hildeborg ( born 1887),Marta Hermina (born 1891),Hilmer (born ?), and Arvida (born 22 Apr. 1894). I beleive that Per & his wife Hustava stayed in Sweden and died there ( Gustava died on 11 Dec. 1939). I think that all of their children stayed and died in Sweden except for Paul, who came over to the U.S.A. with his two uncles Nils & Jakob Peterson. Is there anyway to locate who Per's real mother was? Any help would be so greatly appreciated!

I found Per and Gustava in the church record excerpts at www.ddss.nu -
 
Married in Väsby 23 december 1882:  
Farmhand Per Pettersson in number 4 Långaröd born 23 september 1859 and maid Gustava Henriksson in number 4 Långaröd, born 18 april 1857. Neither had been married before.
 
Children:
Pauli Waldemar born 10 january 1884, Väsby
Agda Hildborg born 10 april 1886, Höganäs
Marta Hermina born 26 july 1891, Höganäs
Arvida Maria Hi(l)deborg born 22 april 1894, Höganäs
 
In Väsby they lived at number 4 Långaröd, in Höganäs at number 291 (maybe a page reference?). Per is a workman.
 
If someone could look up the family in the househould examinations, we'd get Per's location of birth. I bet his mother's name is mentioned in the birth record.
 
BTW, I couldn't find a match for Hilmer, but if he was their child he would be listed in the household examinations too.

Per Petersson was born September 23 1859 in Spelehus, Ausås parish, Kristianstad county.
His mother was Hanna Sonesdotter, born May 22 1840 in Östraby, Kattarp parish, Malmöhus county. Her parents were Sone Johansson, b. 1805, and Sissa Pålsdotter, b. 1806. Before 1842 the family had moved to Ausås.
Except for a short visit in Rya 1862, Hanna and Per moved around in Ausås until they in Oct. 30 1868 moved to Brunnby parish in Malmöhus county. Brunnby is close to Ängelholm.
Here I lost track of them, due to lack of scanned volumes from the distributor I use, SVAR. For the same reason I can't track him backwards from Väsby.

I greatly appreciate it, the family mystery has been solved on Pers mother, and then you have gone over an above that and located her parents as well! I am just amazed.
