Hej !
Kan någon hjälpa mig slutsatser ur denna dödsannonsen:
Edward Paulson of 2511 Harding Avenue father of Miss Dorothy Paulson. Belle of Timberland in Muskegons recent Centennial Exposition, and brother of Attorney Henry N. Paulson, died unexpectedly at Hackley hospital today following an illnes of three days. He was 62 years old. (62 år överstruket, ersatt med 90). Death resulted from a streptococci throat infection wich developed into a peritosillar abscess to seriously undermine his recistance before physicians could relive the infection.Sticken Sunday Mr. Paulson was remowed to the hospital where his condition became acute once the absess formed. He was born in Whitehall April 7 1867 and had been a resident of Muskegon for more than 30 years during which he pursued his trade as carpenter in the employ of local construction companies. He was an active trade unionist and was affiliated with the Carpenters union of Muskegon. Mr. Paulson married Miss Bertha White of Whitehall nov.28 1903. Six children were born to them, three daughters Everlyn, Mildred and Dorothy of this city, and three sons Leslie of Michigan City, Donald and Glenn of Muskegon, who with their mother survive.
He also leaves two brothers Henry N,of Muskegon and Paul of Detroit and three sisters Misses Emma, Anna and Esther Paulson,
all of Whitehall. He was a member of Lakeside Methodist church.

I 1910 års folkräkning finner man i Fruitport, Muskegon:

Edward Paulson 35  (=1874-1875)
Bertha Paulson 28
Evelyn Paulson 7
Leslie Paulson 5
Ralph Paulson 2
Mildred Paulson 5/12

Bertha Paulson, Muskegon dör i mars 1977, född 16 dec 1888 (Social Security).

Maurice (Morry) Carlson was born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. In 1939, he married Dorothy Paulson, also born and raised in the Muskegon area.  Together they began a life of service to the Lord. This included raising three sons, Warren, Larry, and Randy, in a strong Christian home.

As an accomplished saxophone player and converted dance band leader, Morry turned his talent into a powerhouse for the Lord. During his long career of service to God and his community, he was employed by the Muskegon Chronicle in the Advertising Department, was an early pioneer of Youth for Christ, and served on the Constitution Committee for Youth For Christ International. He became known as Uncle Morry when he sang with the Uncles Quartet on the Children's Bible Hour. In addition, he served as Director of the Winona Lake Bible Conference, and was one of the originators of Gospel Films in Michigan.

Morry & Dorothy's greatest accomplishment was the establishment of the Youth Haven Ranches in Rives Junction, Michigan, and Picacho, Arizona. The vision for the Ranches sprang from the blessing Morry received as founder of the original Youth Haven Boys Home for troubled teenagers in Muskegon County, Michigan. Together with their son Larry and his wife Cheri, Morry and Dorothy began to turn this vision into a real ministry in 1968. Acting on their faith in God's provision, they purchased several acres of land in Rives Junction and began to transform a field into a haven for underprivileged children.

Several years later, in 1982, a Tucson man named Palmer Miller donated 40 acres of desert property in Picacho, Arizona, to the purpose of beginning a Youth Haven Ranch in Arizona, and thus began the Desert Ranch.

Morry Carlson went to be with the Lord on May 1, 1994 and Dorothy followed on August 20, 2004, but their vision lives on. Today Youth Haven reaches thousands of disadvantaged children each year.

CARLSON, DOROTHY MAE MRS. (PAULSON)

CARLSON, DOROTHY MAE, Rives Junction, MI.  Dorothy Mae Carlson, age 85, went to be with her Lord on August 20, 2005 at her home under the loving care of her family.  Dorothy Mae Carlson was born May 28, 1920 in Muskegon, Michigan to Edward and Bertha (White) Paulson.  She graduated from Muskegon High School and was Belle of the Timberland for the Muskegon Centennial in 1937.  On March 10, 1939, she married Maurice (Morry) A. Carlson, who preceded her in death May 1, 1994.  They had three sons, M. Warren (Barbara), Larry J. (Cheryle), and Dr. Randy L. (Donna).  They had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was Co-Founder of Youth Haven Ranches, a Christian organization for needy children located in Rives Junction, Michigan (1968) and Picacho, Arizona (1980), where she served on the Board of Directors and was active in the children's ministries.  Dorothy is also survived by her brother, Glen Paulson, who lives in Muskegon, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by brothers, Don, Ralph, Les, and sisters, Millie, and Evelyn.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a contribution to the Dorothy Carlson Memorial Children's Fund at Youth Haven.  Visitation hours will take place at Bethel Baptist Church on Springport Road in Jackson, Michigan from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, as well as at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24.  Funeral services will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, followed by a reception at Youth Haven Ranch.  Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights, Michigan at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25. -Charles J. City's 1937 centennial 'belle' dead at age 87, By Dave LeMieux, CHRONICLE STAFF WRITER .  Dorothy Mae Carlson, named “Belle of the Timberland” for Muskegon's centennial in 1937, died at her home near Jackson on Saturday.  She was 85.

Carlson, then a 17-year-old Muskegon High School student, was elected to reign over Muskegon's mid-July centennial celebration and Lumberjack Carnival.

She was sponsored in her candidacy by local labor unions, which saw that she won by more than 170,000 votes.  The daughter of Bertha and Edward Paulson left on a whirlwind tour of Chicago as part of the celebration.  Chicago motorcycle cops escorted the bus carrying Carlson and her court, “weaving in and out of traffic, through every red light on Michigan Boulevard” to a reception with Chicago Mayor Edward J. Kelly.

Carlson was featured on NBC's national Farm & Home radio program during her stay in Chicago.  She returned to Muskegon for the city's sesquicentennial in 1987 with her husband, Morry, from their home in Tucson.  In 1987, she recalled that when she was elected “belle,” war clouds were gathering over an America still in the grips of the Great Depression.  Even then, she said, “The beautiful thing about Muskegon was that it always had tremendous spirit.”  Morry Carlson died in 1994.  The couple has three sons, M. Warren Carlson, Larry J. Carlson and Randy L. Carlson.  Dorothy Carlson was co-founder and chairwoman of Youth Haven Ranches, a Christian organization for needy children in the Jackson County community of Rives Junction and Picacho, Ariz.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Charles J. Burden & Son Funeral Home in Jackson.  Carlson's funeral will be at Bethel Baptist Church on Springport Road in Jackson at 11 a.m. Wednesday.  She will be buried at Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Född i USA.

Josephine White 50
Bertha White 18
Alse White 10

Obituary

Whitehall Forum  Whitehall, Michigan  30 July 1925  Page 1

Miss Elna Paulson was born in Fruitland township, October 5 1898, and died at Cleveland, Ohio, July 22,  1925.  Miss Paulson, whose greater part of life was spent in Whitehall, was confirmed in the Swedish  Lutheran church, here, in 1914.  She was graduated from Whitehall High School, with the class of '17, later  attending the state normal college at Ypsilanti, from which institution she graduated with a Teacher's Life  Certificate.  For the past five years she has been teaching in the public schools of this state, the last two of  which were spent at Grosse Ile.  She had received her contract to teach in the public schools of Cleveland  for next year and was spending the summer in that city attending the Western Reserve University,  preparatory to assuming her duties in the fall.  About two weeks before her death, illness forced her to give  up her work.  On Tuesday, July 21, she was operated on for the removal of gall bladder and appendix.  Her  brother, Henry, had been with her during the week-end, and was present at the time of operation.  Her  sister, Miss Esther, also arrived before the operation, and her condition following the operation was  reported as good, and Tuesday evening, Henry returned to Detroit.  At about three o'clock the following  morning her sister was startled by the message that Elna had suffered a relapse and that her condition was  critical.  She hurried immediately to the bed-side and was with her when death called at about six o'clock  Wednesday morning.  The formation of a blood clot was held responsible for her death.  The funeral  service was held at the Swedish Lutheran church, Whitehall, and was conducted by Rev. A. J. Beausang,  assisted by Rev. C. J. Segerhammer.  Music was furnished by Miss Martha Youngquist and Miss Elna  Dahlstrom.  Miss Paulson is survived by her mother, Mrs. Elna Paulson, three sisters, Misses Anna, Emma  and Esther, and three brothers, Edward, Paul and Henry.  Elna's sunny and loving disposition won friends  for her, where she went, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Josephine White, a pioneer resident of Fruitland township, died at her home in Fruitport township on  Sunday evening from heart disease after about six months of illness.  Herself and husband moved to  Fruitland over thirty years ago and located on a farm a few miles from this village.  About twelve years ago  Mr. White died, but the widow lived on the farm until a year and a half ago when together with her  daughter, Alice, she moved to Fruitport township to be near two more of her children.  Mrs. White has  many warm friends and neighbors in Fruitland who will be very sorry to learn of her death.  She was 58  years of age.  Those surviving the deceased are four children, Wallace White, of this village; Charles  White, Mrs. Ed. Paulson, and Miss Alice White of Fruitport.  The remains were brought to this village on  Tuesday evening and taken to the home of Wallace White where the funeral services were conducted at  10:30 o'clock on Wednesday morning by Rev. Knowles.

Will

3 October 1907  Page 1

MRS. WHITE'S WILL.   A small estate is divided among four heirs, two daughters and two sons, by the  will of Mrs. Josephine White, who died a week ago.  The will was filed for probating Friday.  Bequests of  $5 each are given Wallace H. White of Whitehall, and Charles S. White of Fruitport, sons.  A daughter  Mrs. Bertha Paulson of Fruitport, is given $25.  The funeral expenses are expected to dispose of the  remainder of her money.  The house, furniture, wearing apparel and two acres of land in Fruitport, which  constituted Mrs. White's farm home for the past two years were bequeathed to the youngest daughter, Miss  Alice White, with the unusual stipulation that the house is not to be moved from the property, which is in  accordance with a deed Mrs. White made with Edward Paulson, husband of the oldest daughter.  Curiously  enough, Mrs. White when she died was administratrix of the estate of her husband, George M. White, who  died several years ago.  To dispose of this tangle a petition was made Thursday in probate court for the  appointment of an administrator de bonus non in his estate.  The hearings on this petition and on the  probate of will were set for Oct. 21.

Enligt Family Data Collection på Ancestry gifte sig Edward Paulson och Bertha Marie White 28 november 1901. Fader George White, moder Josephine Alice Sunderland. Systern Alice White föddes 1 jan 1890, gifte sig 28 dec 1911. Deras far George White:
George W White
Spouse: Alice Southerland
Parents: Aaron White White , Lucretia   Hughes
Birth Place: Bellevue, MI
Birth Date: 20 Jul 1838
Marriage Date: 1867

George W White ,
Residence: Berrien County, Michigan
Enlistment Date: 14 December 1863
Side Served: Union
State Served: Michigan
Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 14 December 1863 at the age of 44
Enlisted in Company B, 6th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 24 December 1863.
Joined Regiment on 04 January 1864 at Port Hudson, LA
Mustered out Company B, 6th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 20 August 1865 in New Orleans, LA
