Elisabeth Norberg

Hi! My fathers mum was adopted, and her genetic fathers name was Carl Henrik Erik Humble af Klinteberg and he was born 1894-11-19 in Stockholm. He was a sea captain. Carl Henrik emigrated to Canada in 1928, and arrived in Quebec 1928/09/08. I know he lived in Vancouver later, because I've found on the Internet that he died there 1943/03/28. BUT, on the home page I found it on, I also saw that there was a woman, named Klinteberg who died in 1977. Maybe he got married in Canada? I have looked in the phonebook, 411, and there is a Klinteberg in Vancouver!

What shall I do? I don't want to contact this person, because he/she may not be intrestead at all. If she/he had an e-mail address, I would e-mail it, but I haven't found anyone.

Maybe there is a Canadian anbytarforum were I can get some help from pepole who knows which books I shall look in?

Thanks in advance!
Regards, Elisabeth

ps. Please excuse my bad english. I'm only 12 years old, but I thought that if I write in english, also the Canadian pepole can read it. ds

Elizabeth: I will be in Vancouver July 21-July 24.
I will go to the library and find Carl Erik's death registration on microfilm. This should tell if he was married and who gave the information. The person who gave the information may be a relative. I will copy all the information for you.
Go to, Genforum, on the internet. It is free but you have to give them your name and email address etc.. Then you receive a I.D. number.
Click on 2 names,Canada and British Columbia, and post a message on each.

Your English is very good.Lycka till!

Hi Ishbel! Thank you so much! I would be very happy if you could search for Carl Henrik Erik Humbles af Klintebergs death registration. I think he's name in Canada was Carl Henrick Klinteberg
Do you have a scanner? I was thinking, that mybe you could scan the copy of the death registration and send it to me by e-mail as a file. It might be hard to see what the text on the copy says, so I would be glad if you also wrote down that the copy says in the e-mail.

My e-mail is: elisabeth.norberg@mbox302.swipnet.se

If you have any better suggestion how I will receive the copy, please tell me.

Thank you so very much in advance!

Elisabeth: I have arrived home from Vancouver.I found 2 death registrations on film in the Vancouver library and two death notices in the Vancouver Province a Vancouver newspaper film for 1943 and 1977.

This is some of the information I found. I will try and scan copies of the registrations to you.

Alda Klinteberg was the wife of Carl Henrick. Their son Max Sven signed Alda's death registration. He was the informant. He provided the information for the registration.

Alda Elizabeth's surname, before she married, was Alda Elisabeth Wikbald, born in Finland. Her father was John Garndstrom born in Finland. Her mother's name was not known by Max.

The newspaper said that Alda had 2 sisters, Karen and Berthe both in Finland.
She had several nieces and nephews in Sweden and Finland.

I think Max Sven Klinteberg is the Klinteberg listed in the Vancouver telephone book. He is the only Klinteberg listed . The listing says M.S. Klinteberg. I will email you his complete address.

Hi, my grandfathers brother emigrated, first to the US and then to British Colombia. I think he was living in Essondale, had a small shop and was married to an norwegian. I don?t know here name. Through archives i?ve seen that he died in january the 12th in 1959. His name was John Winberg, born in 1884 on the 29th of january. Perhaps someone could help me find some more info of what he was doing in Canada? The name of his wife?

Thanks! It?s no problem. Perhaps you could also tell me where this is situated: 11515-125A Street,North Surrey,BC. It?s a place where another of my relatives was dead. His name was Anders Alfred Pohl (1902-11-30) and he went to Halifax on the 30 of nov. in 1928. I know that he was married and that they had no kids. The name of the wife should be fine to know. I think he was working as a carpenteer and she on some trains.
Thanks again!

Hello Lännart!
About Surrey (a city of its own, since a few years back), yes, it is part of the Greater Vancouver District.  Anders Alfred Pohl used to live in an area referred to as Bridgeview.  It's just south of the Fraser River from New Westminster.  Gradually that part of Surrey is growing more into an industrial area, as it is close to many rail tracks.
It takes about 30 minutes to drive downtown Vancouver from Surrey.

Det står bara det jag kopierade ovan i registret, men namnet på hustrun låter som det är svenskt. Herman utvandrade 1903 enligt Emibas:
