I believe the first row of the attached record is Peter Person of Kuhlfall, my direct descendant, 4th G Grandfather. I cannot understand the listed cause of death.

Also, the age and date of death do not match. They are of by a little less than 2 years. His Date of birth is often list as only 1810 on the census records. Could he have been confused about his exact age?

What is the burial custom for a poor farmer in 1870? I'm guessing it unlikely that there would be a marker.

Tack
Chris

The cause of death is "Lefversjukdom", sickness in the liver. According to the household examination in Östra Ryd (E) AI:18 (1866-1870) Bild 20 / sid 252 (AID: v26501.b20.s252, NAD: SE/VALA/00488), he was born 1808-09-04, have you followed him backwards to his birth to verify that date? The age is correct from that date. His grave probably had a gravestone, but it is likely removed today.

Leif Thank you.
Liver disease makes sense.
I'm not following on the dates. I read Östra Ryd (E) AI:18 (1866-1870) Image 20 / page 252 to say he was born on 1810-09-04.
The Death note reads date of death 1870-4-15 aged 61y 7m 11d.
Date calculator gives me Dob of 1808-9-4 based on death note.
I have also attached what IO think is his birth cert from Drothems_Kyrkoarkiv_Fodelse_och_dopbocker_SE_VALA_00062_C_4_1786_1820
This shows date of birth 1810-5-20.

No, Östra Ryd (E) AI:18 (1866-1870) Bild 20 / sid 252 say his birth date is 1808-09-04, can't be interpreted as anything else, and birth parish is noted as Ö Ryd. And it is probably correct as a Petter is born on that day in Östra Ryd (E) C:2 (1734-1811) Bild 315 / sid 605 (AID: v42768.b315.s605, NAD: SE/VALA/00488). You should of course follow him all the way to find out that it is the correct person.

Leif,

I figured it out. I was looking at page 253 which is the correct Peter Person born in 1810. So the Peter Person born in 1808 on page 252 is the one on the death note, but not the Peter Person I was looking for.

My Peter Person Born 1810 in Drothem, married to Maja Stina Johonsdotter in 1849.
Their son Karl Johan born Jan 25 1854 in Ostra Ryd, married Johanna Christine Carlsdotter and they emmigrated to the US in 1882. They lived and died in Wellsboro Pennsylvania. They had a son Charlie, who had a son Erik, who had a son Neuman, who had a son Thomas, who had me. My father still lives in Wellsboro.

Thank you again for your help.
