Attached are two images take from the 1766 mantal for Brandstad in Southern Sweden.   For property number 25 the word onum:hus appears at the bottom of the page and the top of the next page.  The next page is a continuation of the same property.  The year before there was one entry for number 25 and then in 1766 there are about 20 entries.  It appears as if this is a poor house.  Am I correct?  What does the word translate to?

Here are the links to the pages on the Swedish National Archives

I'm mostly guessing now, bot all houses in those villages had numbers, except some that was un-numbered, in Swedish onumrerade. I think that might be what onum: hus might be short for.

Kalle,
Thank you for your reply.  I have attached an image from the following year that may help in interpreting the text.  This was written next to property 25.

I think Kalle Birgersson is right. Onum.hus is short for "unnumbered houses". Your next picture is "unnubered appartments" (onumrerade lägenheter). Often meaning a part of a house, but could also be a little cottage.

Bitte,
Thank you for helping me.  I am just curious as to why they would note that the houses were unnumbered on the tax record.  Does that have some special meaning I am unaware of?  I am wondering if these people lived on the Number 25 farm or we they just added to the end of the page because they did not live on any of the farms.
Thank you again for your help, it is much appreciated.
George

I did a little research and someone stated that houses got their numbers when they were placed into the tax register, maybe for property tax, but I don't know if it´s true

Kalle,
Thank you for taking the time to look into this.  I haven't had much luck if finding anything myself.
George
